If the Oilers are eliminated, due to Talbot's inability to hold a lead or keep them in the game, what would Bishop be worth to them?

Per rosen, we were. Hometown Oilers, Kings, forget who else.

Get the feeling it's going to be the Oilers. Though we do provide great development program and open opportunities...he's got a mountain to climb in Edmonton.

The Flyers are on his list. And I agree on the Oilers as well. They will be (rumor) shedding 12M in Eberle and RNH and he'll be on an ELC so that will garner them 3 cheap yrs. Team on the rise, playing with McD...lots to like.

Talbot isn't the only reason, the team in front of him has made some mistakes. Without him, they don't make the playoffs, he was great all year and will be a large part of their future. Bishop will be in Calgary, my guess, who've tried to trade for him before and have no goalies signed for next year. THey are the frontrunners.

The defensive zone breakdowns by the Oilers and their inability to win faceoffs is what's hurting the Oilers more than anything. They're so weak along the boards as well. Look at how two of the Ducks goals all started with Edmonton's inability to clear the zone.

Lucic scored a goal last night, but he was so bad with the puck with his constant turnovers.

I was not expecting that when he got to the Kings. I think he's got some nice hands in the offensive zone, but in his own zone, at least half the time you might as well be passing to a brick.

Yeah it's like two different players. His vision in his own zone is like non-NHL bad, but his vision in the offensive zone is surprisingly high level.

Sadly that was the same problem with Williams in his last season here, making bad attempts at getting the puck out of his zone that would lead to his team being trapped inside their own zone.

The Oilers are going to be regretting that Lucic signing rather quickly.

That contract will be an anchor 3 years from now when the Oilers' window is wide open.

I am a huge Lucic fan and was all for the Kings signing him but in that playoff series vs San Jose, he looked bad. He was slow and the Sharks were stripping the puck from him every chance they got.

In terms of faceoffs, the Oilers are horrible. Nugent-Hopkins and McDavid cannot match up against Getzlaf and Kessler. Just too much.

I wonder if the Flames really want Bishop, if our 2nd round #41 overall, plus Bishop, could get the Flames' #1 17 overall? Move up 24 spots. Thoughts?

Rosen is starting his player evaluation series with Forbort. I thought this quote was interesting:

"Forbort had hernia surgery last off-season and a “minor surgical procedure” on his left knee this spring, but he’s expected to be ready for training camp, and if anything, well, here are a few stick taps for logging heavy duty through 82 games while playing through discomfort."

I don't remember his previous surgery. Makes this season all the more impressive to me because hernias are no joke. Look at Giroux this year.

I think a lot of that was we couldn't get him out of our zone to be effective. He's actually got good speed and good vision elsewhere, but it's apparent he's actually a full-on liability on this side of the red line. It's like two different players, kinda crazy.

Tippet and Poehling would be hwy robbery on our part

Truly, but I think Tippett is gone before 11. Still could get 2 highly rated players. I would rather move up 24 spots, (in the above scenario) dealing the 2nd + Bishop, rather than getting a 3rd for him.

I am sure the Kings have seen Poehling a lot; the Kings like St Clouds program and Eyssimont is there.

Futa couldn't find a strong enough fire extinguish to put out that dumpster fire in Buffalo...

He'd need one of these:

It's an excellent idea, but does Blake possess the savvy to pull it off? I'm thinking no........ :(

Why? What has Blake done or not done to show that he's not? Hasn't done anything to show he is, but why assume he's not? The idea is great for the Kings, but it has to actually exist as a possibility for Blake to even have a chance to pull it off. As far as we know, it's a random thought on the internet. Tough to judge Blake's GMing ability on that.
