Can you imagine if we get Duchene for Ceci+1st+Chlapik

Would lose my nuts if we got Duchene or Landeskog for that package. I'd give up more. Claesson has very much looked like a good nhler imo which helps lessen the blow of dealing Ceci. Dorion has no excuse imo. East is wide open. Time to make a significant addition.

Is there really a point in discussing deals that are blatantly one-sided for the Senators and would never happen in real life?

Yeah, that would be awesome. No, Duchene for Ceci, a low first, and a B prospect won't happen.

Claesson has looked fine on the bottom pairing with Wideman playing sheltered minutes

That doesn't lessen the blow of dealing Ceci at all, who plays a different side, on a different pairing, and literally twice as many minutes every night against other teams top lines and d pairings

Rolling Claesson-Phaneuf or Phaneuf-Wideman for 20 minutes a night sounds like a tire fire waiting to happen, and Karlsson would probably have to go up near 30 min a game again. I don't even want to think about how atrocious our bottom pairing would be in this situation.

If we are getting Duchene I'd be willing to give up White/Brown... preferably Brown. Also would add Ceci and our 2017 first. And more...

First realistic trade proposal I've seen in awhile, and one the main reasons why we can't afford Duchene at this point.

I said last week I'd deal Brown a 1st and Ceci for Landeskog. Same goes for Duchene.

This team doesn't have the prospect depth right now to afford to gut it's future(with expansion on the horizon) for one really good player.

Englunds apparently darn good and lots think hes a young Kronwall or Stralman... maybe we can give him up instead of Chabot and add in a first and some current, young roster player like Dzingel?

We don't have enough depth to do any 3 for 1 deals. Plus who wants to get hosed when the prices are ridiculous.

Englund + 1st + Dzingel/Lazar ?

Probably an underpayment but there's a 1st there and we don't lose any of the top 3.

If he's ever has half the career of either of those guys come back to me.

It depends on the price. I'd give up the equivalent of 2nd round picks* or later round picks all day at the deadline in order to increase our chances to win in the playoffs.

If we're giving up a 1st, I'd want to be getting a guy who isn't a rental.

*Yes, I know we have no 2nd rounders.

My thoughts exactly. :)

Duchene preferably

Why would the Avs do this? The value there is: a roster player, a B prospect, and a 1st(in a weak draft) for Colorado's best player not named Mackinnon(although Landeskog you could argue is better then Duchene I suppose).

Ceci has played 20 ish minutes a night this year, and he hasn't looked great all the time I'll be the first to admit

That being said saying that Claesson or Wideman can just hop right into his spot with Phaneuf and pencil them in onto the second pairing is laughable when neither of them have averaged more then like 10 minutes a night ever

With Smith getting re-signed before the expansion draft, might as well stop all talk of acquiring a good forward signed beyond this season.

7 protected forward spots are now filled:

Stone
Turris
Hoffman
Brassard
Dzingel
Smith
Pageau

Hope this means we aren't going to go after a rental forward at the trade deadline. Really don't want to see more of this team's future mortgaged for short-sighed short-term fixes.
