Sounds scary, I know, but we actually got their 2nd, 3rd and dumped Stuart on them too.
Stafford went with Myers and we ended up getting NYI's 2nd too.

After a little bundling and negotiating, we ended up also getting Bean, Fabbro, Clague and Johansen, so now we're set as contenders forever.

Yep, all in a day's work.

That's the most likely of the 3 trades proposed. Don't forget the + 36. It assumes Oil are willing to overpay for a RHD. It also assumes Edmonton can't get a better offer anywhere.

Hamonic is off the block, and i liked your first 2 trades enough to not need the last one, which i feel is an overpayment anyways. If your first 2 trades happened there would be a double rainbow in Winnipeg that day.

I think I like Perreault as our 3rd line C more than Lowry or Burmi. But then that begs the question of who plays with Little and Wheeler in that shutdown role. We know Lowry can't handle those tough matchups at the moment at C but can he handle it on the wing?

Laine - Byfuglien have potential to be electric together. Buff can move the puck fast but the opposing team will also have to respect his shot from the line, which should give Laine a lot of room to set up

Run an umbrella. Byfuglien at the point, Perreault right half wall, Scheifele middle, Laine left half wall and Wheeler below the net. Basically identical to what Washington runs

Impossible to stop if you have someone who can blast one timers from that left half wall. Plus we'll have a weapon Washington doesn't have and that is a defencemen that can be lethal from the point with a heavy shot.
They may even run Ehlers in Perrys spot. Kid is a wiz at gaining the zone on PPs and also has a pretty lethal shot from the right half wall if they've locked onto Laine.
Plus we'll also have Connor-Little-Perry/Ehlers on the 2nd unit for cleanup duty if the first can't get it done.

Carlson is good but he doesn't have Buffs shot. I think Ehlers is a very solid and rather underated puck mover. Kid can thread needles better than Petan IMO, he's a better stickhandler too.

Take a look at the lineup we would have and how young a lot of the talent is.

This is the lineup I see after our trade deadline. I think Burmi gets traded for a pick and Staff sticks around for our playoff run as we will be in the hunt. We can afford to lose him if we are in the playoff hunt. We could take our lumps to start and if we do then maybe Staff goes and then Petan fills in admirably. All is good in Jet land.
