What happened to the LA Kings aside from Quick getting hurt?
They're all but eliminated. How is their farm system compared to Boston?
At least they got two Cups from their window.
Lightning seem to be this years team of destiny model.
The league announced Friday a two-game series between Colorado and Ottawa will be played in November in Stockholm, Sweden. The focus will be on Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson and Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog. The fanfare around the two games seems to make it less likely the Avs deal Landeskog this summer, and thus even more likely Matt Duchene finds a new address.
Good news and bad news concerning the Toronto/Florida game.
The good news: Curtis McElhinney is starting for Toronto.
The bad news: Reto Berra is starting for Florida.
With Andersen injured, it is not beyond the realm of possibility the Bruins reclaim third in the Atlantic.
Scary to think they'll soon get Stamkos & Johnson back

Let's give credit where credit is due - he's done a great job in Edmonton. He's built a team that would be an easy sell in Boston, only in Edmonton. Please resist visiting the Edmonton board and commenting in this thread.
Peter Chiarelli appreciation thread
Thanks

Despite losing the Seguin trade, he wasn't gun-shy about dealing Hall. He got ripped by fans for the return, which I imagine he knew before pulling the trigger, and did it anyway. But this time he traded for need, swapping a forward for a defenseman.
Only this time it paid off. It's as if he learned lessons from his miscues in Boston and it's benefiting his new team.
Sure having McDavid fall in his lap is a major key, but he rebuilt their defense, which had been terrible, and brought in some muscle that has also contributed on the score sheet.
His firing seemed as much punitive as anything else.

Lucic and Sekera contracts are going to bite him.
They can still trade Landeskog to us.......because they can feature......Carl Soderberg..... to his Swedish admirers.Well, there goes my dream of getting Ladeskog in the off-season. All my money is on Bjork now ... and maybe T.J. Oshie on the UFA wish list
Agreed. He is a man of action and will get deals done in order to try to make a team better, but he also likes to give out term and dollars like he's Santa.
Is this sour grapes from Chelios claiming free agents did not want to sign in Detroit while Babcock was there? Should there be something to it, may be a potential problem for the Leafs.
“I'm telling you: No veteran free agent is going to want to come in and play for Mike Babcock."
