Yeah no problem with that hit. The penalty was the typical international 2 minutes for a big hit. Good on that defender for seeing an opportunity to bury McCann once that suicide pass was served up.

Marner doing exactly what he did in London...stripping guys off the puck in the offensive end.

Russians are trash, shouldn't even be on the ice if they are just gonna try and fight the whole game. Atleast we could still win even if we played like goons.

Tellin ya man. I get scoffed at when I mention them together but it's plays like those that remind me a Datsyuk. We can only hope he's the same calibre of player. But his playstyle really reminds me of him.

Is it just me or does Strome do the same thing every single time and tries to chuck it at the goalie or infront of the net at the sides and does nothing .

Sanheim looked good early on but definitely tallied off as the game wore on, got danced around quite a few times. Vince Dunn looked like the worst dman of the bunch tonight. Mitchell Stephens seems like a lock to make the team, great two way guy who finishes his checks and works incredibly hard.

I wish they stayed with the jerseys from last year.

Don't worry, Hockey Canada next year will come up with the 102 year anniversary jersey and overcharge for it...got to keep spitting out the profits.

But I do wish Hockey Canada pick a jersey with the Maple Leaf on it and not the Hockey Canada corporate logo. The boys play for their country not the corporate entity that is Hockey Canada.

But Marner was terrific. what a gem.

I found that game pretty uninformative. Roy was disappointing for me, as I'm a fan of his. Marner looked dangerous as always, making shifty little plays all over the ice. Fabbri was quiet, but he at least knows that he has a spot already. I liked what Crouse brought. Stephens looked good. Strome reminded me of his U17 play, as he seemingly did nothing but still ended up on the board. Dal Colle was disappointingly quiet. I wish they would talk less about Ho-Sang... his story is self created, and in reality he's a marginal prospect for this team. If he's playing tentatively it isn't worth mentioning 5+ times.

To me, one of the most impressive players was the undrafted Gauthier. He has size, skating ability and plays a heavy game. I have little doubt that he will make a bigger mark in the NHL than many of the more higher touted Team Canada players.
