Roslovic is the biggest omission I think. 15 points in 13 games on a team that's scored 30 goals.

How do you leave someone off that's in on half their teams goals!?

only two things I don't understand

1. Kyle Connor

2. Easner, why take him as a midget, might as well take one of Bracco or Garland if you only wanted two (DeBrincat ).

Roslovic and Tuch seem odd, but Tuch hasn't been playing that well lately. I guess IDK why Roslovic wasn't taken over a guy like Bjork from ND.

50/50 shot. Canes let Lindholm go in 2014, but held Faulk back in 2012.
Probably less than 50%. He's getting almost 18 to 20 minutes a game, very rare for a team to send a guy if he's getting minutes. I actually can't think of a time where a guy is getting top 9 or top 4 minutes getting sent.

Good luck with those decisions team USA -- you've lost all your Wpg support that's for sure.
I understand wanting to see your prospects do well (hence why I'll have a keen eye on Sweden and Finland) but have some national pride, we want the local kids to win at the end of the day. Especially when its vs one of our two biggest rivals.

USA made some very questionable decisions, can't believe the talent left off.

well, from what we now know-

don't get crazy on lines or dpairings, just thowingit out there right now as we know roles will change.

Milano - Matthews - DeBrincat
Bellows - Schmaltz - Boesser
Tkachuk - Dvorack - MacInnis
Bjork - White - Donato
Keller

Werenski - Carlo
McAvoy - Krys
Borgen - Belpedio
Collins

I am positive Eansor will make this team, just cant put him here. Collins is terrible yet gets another shot, so expect this pylon to make it.

Everyone pray for Hanifin. Do a kickstarter fund, a facebook campaign, a twitter post, but whatever we need to do to have Francis let this kid come, please do so, we need him.

I threw out Bellows, Donato, and Keller a few weeks back as legit names to watch for...I expect all 3 to make the team. Donato is smart and hard working, fits the 4th line mold. MacInnis has size and been much hotter than Bittner for that role and I doubt they pick Bittner over Hitchcock/Bjork so we will see a grind line - White can play any role you want but I just put him with Hitchcock and Donato as they would be a hell of a shutdown line.,

Man this looks so much different than what was expected, but Bellows and Keller will have to show everyone just how skilled they are as they will have to replace some big names.

I edited Bjork for Hitchcock as I like Anders better and I think USA loves him too.

Connor and Roslovic are the huge surprises. Tuch making the team would be basically making it on reputation.

Craig Button's take

Craig Button also said that there was going to be some good players left off this team. Fischer and Yan would have never gotten an invite anyway. Biggest omission is Connor and Roslovic, everyone else that is left off I'm okay with. I'll say this though, Kyle Connor didn't impress me a whole lot at the summer camp against the type of competition that he will face.

Never knew much about Yan but hes almost a GPG as an 18 year old, how good is he?

Also should the summer camp be taken that seriously over hundreds of games Connor has played in the USHL and thus far a good start in the NCAA? Roslovic and Connor not even making CAMP is pretty shocking, theres no way you can defend that.

wow, USA not even inviting like 4 or 5 players I had on the team.

Tuch, Roslovic, and Connor I had them all there, Garland and Bracco I thought both had a shot.

Lets hope it doesn't backfire, those would be some tough decisions to back up if you fail.(Not that 1 could say for sure they failed because of the omissions but people will end up pointing to it if they do)

It's taken with some merit for sure, that was one of the reasons for Garland I believe, despite what he's done in the Q. But yeah you have a point, tough to argue.

pls tell me that Tuch is injured... i really don't see how he didn't even get a CAMP invite given his resume

Every year people complain about players that were left off.

Yeah but these are a little bit different circumstances.

These aren't borderline players or kids. These were 2 perceived locks (Tuch and Connor) and an almost lock if you count Roslovic.

Why was Connor considered a lock ? He's barely out scoring Marody with who was picked in the 6 th round ?

That is one of the worst arguments ive ever heard lol. Just because someone from the later round is doing well doesnt mean you are doing bad as a top pick. For example, if Marody has a 1.5ppg and Connor has a 1.5 ppg that doesn mean Connor is having a bad season... 16 points for 13 games as a freshman is good no matter how you spin it.

Surprised Josh Jacobs was left off too. He's been a rock all season. Really questionable picks from USA this year.

Serious question - who is Easnor and why are people so confident he'll be on the team?

I'm not familiar with him and I just checked and saw that he wasn't drafted and isn't putting up even a PPG as a 96 in the WHL. He's also small.

What's the story with this guy?

Because it's USA Hockey.

Surprised at no Connor and Roslovic but there should still be enough skill left for three solid scoring lines.

I have some concerns about what decisions they'll make at left wing though. I'd rather not see players like Bittner, Hitchcock or MacInnis there personally. I don't know that Bellows is ready to make that sort of impact yet either. They did give Dvorak some time at left wing in the summer so perhaps they could look to move him there and open up greater opportunities for White and Keller at center.

Hard working, gritty and energetic role player who was very good at the summer camp. If he makes the team any offense he brings would be a bonus but he'll bring a lot of other valuable traits to the team.

Not what I'd do with the guys invited to camp but I think they'll go with something like this..

Milano- Matthews- Schmaltz
Tkachuk- Dvorak- DeBrincat
Bellows- White- Boeser
MacInnis- Eansor- Bjork
Hitchcock

Werenski- Carlo
Fitzgerald- Collins
Fortunato- Borgen
Krys

Halverson
Nedeljkovic
Opilka
