The clips that I've seen from Rantanen from the AHL suggests to me that he prefers right side,
Laine-Rantanen
Aho-Pulju
then Kapanen to 3rd line to give us some serious scoring depth.
Except you are trying to make a controversy where there isn't one, and anyone who watches knows Laine primarily plays on the left and Kapanen can play either side. So its not 4 rw's for 4 rw spots which you are trying to phrase it as. With you it always seems you pop up to create arguments particularly involving leafs prospects. So next time you want to create an argument, atleast know which position a player like Laine plays. Can't wait for this tourny to start, Finland's top 9 looks amazing.

This is why I think Rantanen who is the best Finnish player, should stay where he is. If any player plays out of position it should be one of the other Right wingers.
I would also keep Puljujärvi/Laine as the 2nd line right winger. Which leaves how the Finns deploy the rest of the roster quite interesting as tbe tournament unfolds.
What about that Repo dude? Ain't he a serious camper also? Can he be the guy in the 3rd line?
Hmm I was just thinking that
Laine-Rantanen
Aho-Pulju
should work well together in this tournament, have a bit of everything.
Have the top guys in their true wings.
Rantanen can play Center. Would love to see Rantanen with Laine/Puljujärvi on the Right side. Perhaps an option for the Finnish coach.
No chance.Unfortunately you have made an accusation where I am forced to explain this isn't so. That again takes us away from what this thread should be about.
The Finnish Roster, and trying to make it about a Leafs prospect. By claiming I am trying to stir up controversy. You are wrong.
I want you to retract this statement.
I posted to 4 prospects and an obvious strength of this Finnish team. It was a perfectly good question of how the Finnish side will deploy these 4 Right wingers, but instead of replying to this, you decided to focus only on Kapanen.
If anyone is trying to stir up controversy in a thread most are talking about the Finnish Roster, it is you.
The lines and players can be mixed and matches no worries there. If any disturbance in harmony occurs it might come from powerplay as there are too many cooks. I think Laine/Puljujärvi/Kapanen ideal position is in Ovechkin territory. Laine is propably the main guy to go in 1st unit as he was in U18 last spring and Lake Placid this year. Puljujärvi was already agitated and had few words with head coach Jalonen when he didnt get icetime 6vs5 empty net situation vs Sweden in Placid. So there is potential for odd man out and agitation for lack of pp ice time among forwards.

Puljujärvi had "A" on his jersey during the practices, highly doubt there is any bad blood between him and Jalonen.
I'd like to see Aho at center, Laine-Aho-Rantanen would be something amazing.
Laine-Aho-Rantanen
Saarela-Hintz-Puljujärvi
Lammikko-Nättinen-Kapanen
Björkqvist-Siikonen-Repo
Tammela

I've seen a lot in Finnish hockey, but it's still kinda dazzling to live in a reality where Finland is so insanely stacked.
And all them options. Everybody seems to have an opinion on the lines that vary somewhat from the next, and while I've my own preference, I've yet to see one that'd make me go "that doesn't look like it would work".
Can't wait for Monday, to get a first inkling for what Jalonen has in mind.
They are not "insanely" stacked...they are arguably at the same level forwards wise as USA Canada and Sweden..it's not like it is the best team ever dressed in the wj's
I just want to remind you that Russia in 1989 had a top line composed of Pavel Bure, Sergei Federov and Alexander Moginly ...Its pretty damn close to it.

That's fineOne of the best or if not the best lineup to dress for Finland I meant, not the best lineup in history of WJC among all countries.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Finland vs Sweden for the Gold Medal.
