Utter. Nonsense.

So the other defensemen on the team all have better skating than Sanhiem? Is that the garbage you want to spew right now?

I have no idea why you so adamantly argue something that's factually incorrect, not even a matter of opinion. It's like you spun a wheel of complaints and decided that's what he's bad at. Nobody who actually watches him play could ever come to that conclusion.

I'm actually wondering if you watch Sanheim play. He's very clearly not a better skater than anybody on Canada other than maybe McKeown. His lower body looks really small and he doesn't generate a lot of power in his stride. Skates like Sam Reinhart if you think he's a good skater.

How was Fleury a 1st round pick?

Because he is a phenomenal skater with size who is a pretty safe bet to be at least a top-4 D. Just like Sanheim. Fleury wasn't even bad today.

This tournament doesn't make or break players. People try to come to conclusions over these young guys under microscopes for a couple of weeks. Doesn't mean that much.

Pretty much what is happening to Sanheim so I'm not a bit worried. Just kinda lame that Lowry is misusing him.

Flyers fan need to calm down.

But Sanheim deserved top 4 ice-time. While Hicketts-Mckeown-Hickey-Fleury need less ice-time

Politics is there. The Q never get players in or invite even if deserving so. They prefer generic future 3rd or 4th liner from OHL/WHL. They all 5.10/185 pounds, good dumping ability and can hit the goalie crease like champs.

Don't act like Dermott is clearly better than them. I'd still prefer 2 or 3 of them over him. They have all been quite mediocre.

Generally that will come from individuals that never watch the players outside of the tournament & won't see them again unless they make an NHL team.

You can be a Flyer fan and a Team Canada fan. The defense are not good on the PP and the puck moving from the D has been average at best. Those are the 2 things Sanheim is best at, why not use it.

Heck just use him on the PP and the team would be night and day better.

This team isn't as good as last year, but the Americans don't look too good either. Seems like a weaker crop of players overall in this tournament but usually Canada at the beginning is not the same Canada at the end.

On to tomorrow, they'll improve everyday and this is just a lesson.

Yeah, that's what I said. He started the period there, played for a bit, and then went off. It wasn't the full 2:30

So you want him to play full power plays? In all honestly Sanheim has done nothing in the pre tourney games to deserve top minutes and this game didn't change my mind.

What?

Never said he should play the full PP, I just said that he didn't play the full 2:30 like that guy claimed...

When I say he should play more then short bits of PP time I mean spread over the multiple PP's they had, not all at once.

The point was that Sanheim did get his time on that 5 minute PP and honestly the only thing I noticed was him not being able to hold the line on a pass back to him once, he didn't do anything to earn more ice time there have been countless players that have started out the tournament as either the 7th D or 13th Forward and taken advantage of the time they do get and that is what Sanheim needs to do.

The only time I remember hearing Sanheim's name was when he turned the puck over coming out of the zone when he had two wide open teammates. I didn't mind not hearing it much more after that.

I didn't mean to say he literally played the full 2:30 I get how it came across that way but I was more so replying to the people posting about how Canada failed on the 5 minute PP acting like Sanheim was on the bench the entire time when he was out there for a significant time of it and we had no more success with him then we did with Dermott or Chabot. Honestly my opinion is that the powerplays problem is a lot deeper then just the point man the whole set up seems off because Dermott,Chabot, and Sanheim all run a good powerplay on there regular teams and it just isn't working so far with any of them.

Oh, OK I see what you meant. He played during the 2:30, not for 2:30.

But yeah, the powerplay didn't look good no matter who was out there. Too much perimeter passing and not enough shooting.

Probably because they are jerking guys around. I don't know how you have two guys rotate on the 1st PP unit, but neither plays on the 2nd unit. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me but I'm not a coach.

While I think Sanheim is overall overrated, I don't get why he isn't playing on the pp. Isn't that one of his biggest strength's, on the pp?

Stay on topic. Discuss the team roster. Do not make this about other posters, off topic post histories, etc. Do not post with the intention of starting an argument.

Threadbans and infractions are next.

He actually played well other than a bad turnover. Werenski and other defensman all had bad turnovers. But Sanheim played well when he played with the exception of getting his pocket picketed when he was carrying the puck out of the zone. I thought none of the defensman distinguished themselves other than Hickets in a bad way. He got a ton of ice time and did not generate anything and horrible move leading to the third goal.

As a flyers fan, I can agree with this. Why bother taking him if you're not going to use his strengths? We do overrate him a bit, but he back's it with numbers. One of these other plugs will play themselves out of a spot anyways. Sanheim's icetime will increase.
