Another example of the craziness of those big deals.

And if there was one guy you would have thought would work out it was Mauer. He was young. A hometown guy. And he was a very good hitter, not some flukey power hitter that you would expect to age poorly.

And yet, a couple injuries, and he's really never been the same player since.

It's funny, but I'm almost glad the Jays don't have many options in the OF right now. It's nice to see Pillar given a chance to work through his problems. I'm glad we're getting a nice, long look at him.

He has one of the best eyes in the big leagues. He knows they're not going to give him something to hit.

Why run the risk of the pitcher making a mistake he could crush? Put him on and hope for a double play.
