Can't agree with that. Time has value and having a center 3 years ago would have been HUGE. But yeah it could have been a lot worse.

Awesome draft day. Congrats to Berhardt and GMDM. Not showing the draft at the draft party and NBCSN cutting off wasn't good, but it was still a great day. And the jerseys look cool.

Yeah that was why I left, at the draft party......I want to watch the draft, not the band who's playing 50 feet away.

The balls they had not trading up. The balls.

I still think they were ready to trade the pick away for immediate help, but held off because one or two guys the really liked were still on the board.

Yeah, I left when they put Lapinski and Heeter on stage instead of showing the actual Draft. On the way home I had 98.7 on and Gambo and Burns were ignoring the rest of the Draft and trying (and failing) to get Strome on the phone. Compared to their NBA draft coverage they really were quarter-assing the NHL draft.

In fairness to the NBA Draft vs. the NHL draft even to big fans of the NHL alot of the names in todays draft are just random people. To casual basketball fans most of the names from the basketball draft are known.

Mike richards clone? Seems like a steal at #30. Works for me.

Money well spent in beefing up that area.

Anybody have any detail on where this additional investment in scouting was spent? I don't think there's more than a name or two that's new in the amateur scouting dept. The analytics guy is new but I'm not sure I've seen any new commitment beyond the Don being a little more involved due to the teams dismal season.

Puck possession skill jumps out immediately, an area in which the Yotes woefully are lacking. Amazing catch at #30. Well done GMDM (and thank you Boston)

IIRC, we had one scout for all of Europe during the bankruptcy years. That's a ridiculous amount of territory.
