I almost said the same thing word for word last night. They may never be able to replace him because these guys don't come around too often.

Was thinking that same thing yesterday as I watched the 2014 cup champs DVD.

Voynov-gone due to being and ass
Mitchell-Gone UFA
Regehr-Gone Retirement

Not wonder our D has holes.

what about a pure rental second center and bumping carter up to the first rw to negate the impact of losing gaborik? (eric stall at 50% retention as a pure rental kinda thing) haven't seen that avenue ventured down in many roster or trade threads. carter looked scary on the wing for those couple games and 77 - 11 - 77 could be fun. just a random shower thought.

First we would have to clone Carter.

I don't want LA to part with the assets to get Stall...I mean sure if the price was right..
remember Carter used to be on Richards wing. So it's not impossible

I am starting to think Mike Amadio is going to be better than Kempe. No joke.

The only problem with Amadio right now is, he is a man among boys right now. Amadio has Mike Richards(prime Mike Richards) written all over him.

lol...

Is their another defensive D-men like Schenn available (maybe Polak). i still feel like our D is not stable, so our forwards have to back check more often to compensate. And well our offensive chances decrease.

I think a dman who can get the puck out of the zone safely is a more pressing need. The Kings need a dman who doesn't fiddle around with the puck and turn it over like McNabb and Schenn tend to do because they're poor puck movers.

They need another top for guy so that Muzzin and Doughty can be paired back together and someone who can bump guys like McNabb and Schenn down to lesser minutes.

This has been mentioned before most likely, but how about Hamhuis from Vancouver? Their management a)doesn't seem to building from the d-corps out and b)loves guys like Clifford (Sutter, Kassian, Prust, Dorsett etc). Dean would have to add, but he'd be excellent in a lesser role, like the 3-4 he'd be here. Their coach also loves Vey, but I think that's as much from having coached him in junior as it is liking what he picked up in the Kings system (or didn't, for that matter).

He's not overly physical, but he is tough, and a good-great puckmover.

All eyes on Kempe or Jeff Schultz.

Dallas: Playoff bound, needs D. May not be looking at Kings
MTL: Gilbert, depth D. Team may blow it up..
WPG: Trouba RFA, may not want to pay him, have 2 other good RHD, need LHD
TO: Polak... yeah not much on this team interests me.
AZ: Not going to help the Kings right now
SJ: Not going to help the Kings, until they choke in the playoffs. :naughty:
NJ: Don't see much they'd part with.
COL: Barrie could be in the same boat as Trouba, RFA they don't want to pay. Need LHD like WPG.
NSH: Ellis could be nice. They already moved one RHD this season.
Min: Dumba comes to mind. Who knows what Min is doing.
NYR: Yandle... Kings probably won't give up enough to make it worth NYR's time. LHD, hard to see where he fits other then on the 3rd pair, playing off side.
Buffalo: Pysyk maybe? Legwand/McGinn are UFA's.

Fantasyland for salary and asset reasons AND because Suter ditched everything to 'go home' to a ****** team. Fantastic player, though.

I think Schenn replaced Greene, but another one would replace Regher. With all penalties we are taking, it would help to kill all those minutes. The emergence of Muzzin &improvement of Martinez has helped lessen the absence of Voynov, McNabb closing in at Muzzin level of play.

I'm a little worried Lombardi will go for Markov. Old vet... may be "done" according to fans... and could be had for cheap... kinda like the same things we heard about Regehr....

I know we've piled on Brown this year heavily, and he'd be the first to tell you he needs to produce way more. But since Gaborik went down and he's seen better linemates, he's produced 8 points in 11 games. Not bad considering that most of that was on the road against a high quality of competition. He doesn't look like he's slowing down either, he's got the confidence going. Hopefully he keeps it up.

If he does and Carter gets back to himself, we could see some classic Kings terror in the playoffs. Especially if a D is added so guys slot better into their proper roles.

Dustin Brown Home - 26GP, 1G, 7A, 8P, -3, 0PPG
Dustin Brown Road - 32GP, 7G, 8A, 15P, +2, 2PPG

Don't forget, 4 of the 7 road goals came against the Coyotes. The home goal? Take a wild guess. Of the other 3 goals, we're talking the 9th of 9 goals in a 9-2 win against Boston, the 5th of 5 goals in a 5-2 win against Edmonton, and then a PS goal in a 4-3 loss to Carolina.

To get the most out of Brown, other than playing Arizona all the time, he almost has to play with Kopitar. Despite any limitations that Brown may have. I'd say or Carter too, but I can't remember the last time Carter and Brown played together, if they even have. I don't know how much Brown gives you on a 3rd line with a 35 year old Lecavalier.

Is there another team where the player that leads the team in shots on net can't score with any regularity? Voracek leads the Flyers, has only 10 goals, but he has 47 points.

I think Martinez had a real tough game yesterday. Fortunately Nashville can't win in OT. He looked slow, made many poor reads and fumbled the puck constantly. Hopefully it's just an end of road trip blues deal.

I think the added minutes is really affecting his performance. He's been struggling quite a bit of late. Probably doesn't help that he's also been playing with Luke Schenn.

Guys; you think this is the season Kopi finally wins Selke ?
in my opinion best season of his career, despite being on decline :-)

If he doesn't win it, I guarantee you the dummies in the East will be voting for Bergeron in droves. I'm calling it for Bergeron this year.
