I am hoping when others get healthy, Weal/Mersch/Forbort are sent down. None of these guys are NHL caliber ready at this point in their careers.

Unless they get another d-man, it's Forbort or Schultz as the 7th guy. If Lombardi can help it, he probably doesn't want to lose Weal for nothing. If someone were to pick him off waivers, which may or may not happen. He could be the 14th forward.
If healthy, but with Greene out, and without any deals, I'd say Mersch would be sent down.

Our top 4 defense is as good as most teams in the league. We need a vet bottom pair guy to rotate in with the two that are playing. Our top four is set and very solid only a few teams have better top 4 than us.
Maybe the top 3, but when McNabb is getting top 4 minutes, I think a good majority will disagree with you. It's like having Matt Greene in a top 4 role. He doesn't belong in there.
If Muzzin/Drew gets injured, this team is screwed. Need a Top 4 Veteran D.

Mersch sent down
Of Gaborik's 7 goals, Kopitar has assisted on 4 of them. The one in the Buffalo game on the 2-on-1, the Chicago OT winner, another goal against Chicago where Seabrook turned it over on a flubbed pass and Kopitar got to the puck, and then one in Florida. The one against the Panthers was one of those loft passes off the glass that Gaborik caught up with and went in on a semi-break.
Of Kopitar's 9 goals, Gaborik has assisted on 1, in Montreal, and it was the 2nd assist. The goal really happened on a good pass from Doughty. That's 9 goals with 1 secondary assist.
If we're looking for new line combo's, what is keeping Kopitar and Gaborik together? How many ES goals, with offensive zone pressure, have they combined on? Maybe Lucic isn't the one dragging that line down. Maybe that combo just isn't clicking. 30+ games in, and the Kopitar/Gaborik duo has little more than just a couple ES goals together.

We'd see what Forbort is made of. He hasn't had a good sample size for us to judge him on. It's not easy with how he's been in and out of lineup, so I personally cut the kid some slack. If he were to play 8 straight games with about 15 minutes each, I think we'd have a better idea on whether he's going to stick. Right now you just can't tell. I'm in the camp that thinks he couldn't play any worse than a couple guys. I don't think DS should have him in now. The team is set up well with the pairs now, and things like PP and PK.This I like McNabb and think he will be great in time, but him playing with drew means drew has to shelter him and play as aggressive as I like.
Team needs a top 4 to bump down McNabb, plus at some point one of the top four will get banged up. It happens to every team almost every year. How scary will our D be when that happens.
was just taking with a co-worker that LA really missed Voynov. he was their top PP d-man, and could do everything from kill penalties and eat big minutes. Took a lot of pressure off of drew, and was signed to a bargain contract. Plus was a right handed shot.

28. It’s difficult to pinpoint when Anze Kopitar’s extension will be announced, but after momentum stalled, things are grinding toward a conclusion. The money will be somewhere between $9.75M-$10M per season over eight years. Whatever the trade protection issue was, that’s settled. It’s like waiting for the Starkiller to power up. It’ll be big when it finally happens.

Lebrun just stealing my Big Buff idea.
