As an RFA I'm not surprised. He's been great about representing the team, too. We need him badly but he's earned my respect already unlike a lot of the others.

He's not going. If he was going to bother he would have already been announced. First exhibition is tomorrow and the team is in Austria. Team USA gets "maybes" all the time and I can't remember the last time one of these maybes actually played. The reason you don't hear anything further is because the American media couldn't care less about this tournament.

Sadly I kind of want us to get relegated and not automatically qualify for the Olympics.

Of course that would obviously seal the deal for NHLers not going to Korea, but imagine the hilarious backlash when our Euro-based players fail to qualify too and everyone wonders why the hell we aren't playing at the Olympics.

Not like any of the guys that would be on the Olympic roster deserve to be there anyway when they refuse to put in any of the work. (Except Jones, Faulk, etc)

toronto media is slow and pathetic sometimes they never said if Rielly was playing for team canada either and now it is known he isn't . JVR likely has a minor injury likely why he isn't going.

well hopefully we get a goalie as Howard for the Wings would be great despite his down year and Bishop for the Bolts would be amazing...

as for forwards probably is coming down to Tyler Johnson as he would be such a big big add...

Johnson and Bishop would be an amazing add at this point....not sure Bishop would go that's why Howard would be a likelier acceptance with his season.

We still have three spots left, two for skaters and one for a goalie. We need to use both spots on forwards.

If we're turned down by Ryan, Stastny, Okposo (likely as he has a newborn), Nelson (likely as he's an RFA), Lee (likely as he's an RFA) and the Tampa Bay Lighting advance then he'll probably get added as we wouldn't really have any other options left. Well, there is always Abdelkader if the Lightning advance but he's just a penalty waiting to happen in the IIHF so I'd rather not bother with him.
