What chances that Patrik Hersley will play? He was one of the best KHL defenders this season and played some good games for NT as well. Of course he isn't better than OEL. But I don't see how Klefbom is better than him right now. With a better potential, I think. But better right now? Hardly.
Klefbom has been playing like a top pairing d for the past few months, and his d partner is justin ****ing schultz. Haven't heard of this other dude, but the fact that Klefbom made the team over Klingberg (who is on a tryout) says a lot about his performance.

No it doesn't, they are different type of players competing for different spots.

Klingberg isn't on a tryout, never was, someone here in this thread speculated I believe. The reason Klingberg isn't officially added to the squad is because he's an unsigned RFA and there are issues with his insurance because of it. If Dallas inks him, that's easily fixed and he will be on the team. If not, he might not be available.

Klingberg on a try-out? That's hilarious. Surely, he won't beat out stars like Burström and Heed.

Heed has almost 10 more p than Klingberg had last season in regular season ad 6 more points in the playoffs.

But yes I would still take Klingberg over Heed, both I do think you are underestimate Heed very much and there are room for both

Klingberg
OEL
Klefbom
Larsson
S Kronwall
Hersley
Heed
Junland

PS. Where do you find room for Klinger below?

Ekman Larsson - Karlsson
Kronwall - Kronwall
Rahimi - Tallinder
Klefbom - Brodin
Grossmann - Larsson

10 d-men? Etiher way, I would easy take Klingberg over, Rahimi, Tallinder and Grossman.

Heed is overrated

Adam Larsson was asked to play for Sweden but say no for several reasons, one being he does not have a contract behind this season.

Comparing Klingberg from last year is pointless. Klingberg of last year wouldn't have 39 points in 64 NHL games or be able to play the minutes he does in the NHL. He has obviously taken his game to another level since.

Heed of course has taken a huge step from last year, but he is unproven at the international level. Klingberg has little experience from the national team as well, but he is used to play against better opponents in the NHL day in and day out.

Heed has yet to prove he can handle the tempo against better competition than the SHL. Klingberg has the tempo and skillset to play in the tournament. The only thing that possibly could set him back is the pressure from playing for the national team.

Klingberg and Rahimi/Tallinder/Grossman is diffrent type of players.

Guys like Rahimi and Ahnelöv should be locks, did you not see how good they were the last WC? We need 2-3 defence physical guys. Can't only have skilled offence types.

OEL - Kronwall
Klingberg - Klefbom
Hersley - Ahnelöv
Junland - Rahimi

That is off course MÃ¥rts fault that he lacks international experince. As I said, I agree, I would also take Klingberg over Heed, but Heed has been outstanding this season and he has done what he can do, it is not easy doing what he has done and he do look great in SHL. He can not preform in stages has hasnt been giving the chance in. Also as I see it, they do not compete against each other, there are room for both.

Btw, weird choice by MÃ¥rts that already dismise Junland. Sure Junland will not make if he get jackpot from NHL, but he do not, there not many from europe that are better than him.

Being skilled offensive is not a weakness!? It is best if all are skilled offensive. It is not like a skilled offensive d-men is per automatic bad defensivily. I would say it is more the other way around, skill offensivly guy are usually the best defensivly also. They read the play better, they can handle the puck when they get it, which is kind of importent for defense what you actually do with the puck when you get it.

However, yes I would agree that you need a mix in size and not having 8 Enström.

In every d-pair I think you should have one that have a more offensive role and one that has a more defensive role. But you do not have to have limited offensive skilled players in the defense role if you have enough offensive skilled player that also can play in the defense role.

Klefbom - OEL
Kronwall - Klingberg
Hersley - Heed
Rahimi - someone that can handle offensive role

There is no lack in size here, no lack in defense skill.

Who should move the puck in the Rahimi - Larsson pair, both are bad with the puck. But Larsson have turn down anyway because he do not have a contract next year and probably do not want to risk a injury, so you can scratch him. Hersley have 8p in 7 games for the national team this year, he should be a lock, but I do not know how it is with his injury. But he is big just like you want to have them.;)

The invites so far are pretty solid. Gotta remember that we have pretty good players in Europe now. Need some top line forwards.

Lindstrom in. I hope to see him with Lander and a goal scorer on the other wing, probably Moller. But im guessing it will be Ericsson in the middle.

Rask and Lindholm together on another line.
