It's almost as if you're not entitled to cheap alcohol. Heh, who knew?

Clearly, if you voluntarily paid the high prices for the beer, it was a mutually beneficial transaction. By definition.

I hadnt been to a live Ranger game in years because of **** like this.

If more people went that route, the prices would be cheaper.

The game was pretty great, I didn't think it was that cold at all, there wasn't any wind. I also met Mike Richter & Jeremy Roenick which was cool

It costs 60$ for a keg of bud light. Probably less with the bulk that Yankee Stadium buys.

It is price gouging and has been for a long time. Just because we are all used to it doesnt change it.

It is not price gouging as beer is not an essential, it is consistent with the prices at stadiums and arenas across the country. Finally, they make it cheaper then people drink more which leads to more problems, ie drunk driving, rowdy behavior. Like others have said, YOU DID NOT HAVE TO BUY BEERS. Yes, they likely pay $30-35 per 1/2 keg.

That is your right and your business. I go to very few mets games nowadays, because I think the tickets are very overpriced. Didnt go to any last year, 1 the year before because a friend from HS who no longer lives in the area was in town and wanted to see the new stadium, and none the previous 2 years.

The game itself was just downright awful. The ice was a disaster.

Potvin sucks is getting old though. Of course you tend to hear it more than "Let's Go Rangers." A large portion of the people at the games weren't even alive when the play happened or probably don't even remember what the played looked like if they were. I know it's a "tradition", but the guy has as many cups as the Rangers in its entire history and is an HOFer, it's hard to say that he sucks. Also, it looks like a pretty routine and clean hit. I mean honestly if that hit happened today, there probably wouldn't have even been a thread on it in the main boards.

Potvin sucks will never get old for fans of that generation, The newer fans don't realize the rivalry the 2 teams had for the 20 year period of 74-94. It was so intense and makes the Yankee/Red Sox rivalry look tame. Before my time but the Yankees/Dodgers of the 50.s may have been close. 1979 was the Rangers chance to steal a cup just prior to the Islanders Dynasty but a cheap shot changed all that and we shall never forget!

Anyone else notice that they only had like 1 or 2 ticket scanners per gate? It was like a madhouse to actually get into the stadium. I missed the puck drop and got to me seat right around the time Richards took the penalty in the first.

While I wouldn't call it "gouging", the $11 price for a Miller Lite draft was $1 more than it cost a month ago at the Pinstripe Bowl. Bottles were also $1 more.

Its less than that per keg, The Yankees and Cowboys both have a ridiculous agreement with Budweiser where they pay close to 25 cents per beer, a ****ing quarter! then charge fans 40 times that its absurd. Luckily security at Yankee stadium is an absolute joke, I've never had a problem bringing in cans, bottles, food anything.

I'm looking to buy a puck from the Stadium Series game. I went to the one on Wednesday vs. the Islanders and there's two pucks. There's one in a case that is the "official game puck" of the series, and another where it shows the Rangers vs. Devils/Islanders.

I think I'm leaning towards the actual game puck, I think it looks nicer, and comes in the case, but I like how the other puck shows the opponent.

Just out of curiosity to get your guys' opinions on which one's you liked better.

Go with the puck you feel displays nicer. Neither will be worth anything from a collector's standpoint. You can always buy the puck with the team logos and then buy a case for it.

No, what is absurd is people PAY that much.

Get your drink and eat on before the game, then maintain your buzz with one or two during the game. No need to spend more than $20 in concessions. As soon as people stop relying on their goods, prices will come down.

EDIT: Easier said than done for someone coming straight from work or who brought kids.

There's places to eat around MSG and to a lesser extent Yankee Stadium. If you don't want to spend money inside, you don't have to. Citi Field on the other hand is a different story because that place is pretty much in the middle of nowhere.

Seriously. There's nothing to do EXCEPT eat near MSG. There's no reason to be buying overpriced pretzels at MSG when you can eat outside.

If you have time just go one stop on the 7 (or drive if you hate yourself) to Main st. It's like being in Korea with a lot of food choices.

Yeah, I rarely spend money at the concessions at games. It's just too ridiculous. I'll maybe grab a sausage and pepper sandwich or the carved turkey over at Mama's at Citi Field but that's it. And that's rare. It's just too expensive to be spending that much money on a single beer or burger and fries. The game is only 2.5 hours. I'll live if I don't eat/drink there.

I keep hearing about how much of a success the Stadium Series has been so far for the NHL. Even after many people had a negative outlook on how the Stadium Series was unfolding in NY it ended up taking people by surprise and it was mostly a huge success. That's great! ...but over the past few days I am seeing people suggest that it is possible for the NHL to bring an outdoor game to NY as early as next year! Of course I don't think NHL sources are saying these things- but how this can be considered a rational idea is alarming to me.

I think they have maxed out what this market is willing to support with the two games. If they do plan on coming back with an outdoor game I feel it would be a terrible business decision if they let it happen within the next 2 seasons.
