Does anybody know if you are allow backpack inside the stadium? My daughter wants to bring a NYR blanket with her.

I have 3 pairs of thick football socks in boots...long johns, rangers pajamas and thick sweatpants over there, under armour, 3 long sleeved shirts, a captain cally shirt, a hoodie, my north face jacket and my callahan jersey on top of it all. a ski mask and my nyr wool hat. also 2 pairs of gloves. and that beautiful nyr scarf they gave us. PLus 10 hand warmers. lol

I was in sec. 202 row 6 (right field bleachers) I basically watched half of what was going on on the big screen, especially when the puck was along the boards that were closest to us. Not the best sight lines out there. Great experience though.
I went on Sunday.
Never been to Yankee Stadium, never watched an outdoor game live. Had pretty costly tickets in advance but there was a mishap with the section so my buddies and I spent an extra $35 bucks buying tickets on game day.
For anyone picking up tickets at Stubhub. PLEASE GO AT LEAST an hour and a half HOURS EARLY. We got there at 12pm and the line was well outside the parking garage in the Bronx. It lasted about 45-60 minutes. Thank Lord the game was delayed because of the Sun lol.
First thing upon making it to Yankee Stadium (never been either) it was amazing. They did an amazing job outside. Its like a shrine. The walk to the stadium really pumps you up for sports and especially an outdoor hockey game. Its too bad that its a baseball team and nonetheless I hate the Yankees lol. Just thought how cool it be if the Rangers played here a bit more or if MSG had something more like this on the outside.
It was freezing. Had several layers and gloves and hates and warmers and scarfs and a jersey andddddd it did not help. Especially sitting up high, section 413 row 12... the wind was horrid up there.
But we sucked it up. We jumped around. And in between intermission we made sure to go into the hallways and stairwells where wind was being blocked. And a 5 minute bathroom break right before periods was ideal. Or we would have died.
I had warm boots. I suggest you do the same. Its an outdoor hockey game, dont underestimate it lol.
Besides that. I spent a lot more than I wanted to for the tickets (not realizing it be sold at 50 bucks now) but it was worth it. It was awesome. And the game itself was awesome. What a great comeback.

Good call - gonna pick up a pair of these and get some pre-game whiskeys at Stan's. Hopefully that does the trick but if not, there's always more whiskey

apparently in alaska they tell you not to chill your vodka outside because the freezing point is so low at -16. When you drink it that cold it can kill you

yeah, nobody wants to sit in the bleachers. Hard, freezing metal bench with no seat back, you can't see the puck, and to know what's going on you have to twist your neck because the scoreboard is behind you and if that wasn't bad enough, when you're that close to the board it's all pixelated
If they ever have an outdoor game again at Yankee Stadium they won't be able to sell those unless they charge under $50

I went to several stores this morning in Suffolk County and they only had a few left. The clerk at Sports Authority told me that they got wiped out because of the Stadium series.
Did anyone have cell phone issues while at the stadium? I have Verizon and had absolutely no data service inside the stadium......

Yeah, that happened to me at a few Yankees' games last year too - particularly Mo's last game where everybody was trying to send pictures and videos. I guess it's just too many people in one area and even large providers like Verizon can't handle it.
