TUU-KKAH!

Stupid work is stealing these games from me. Do I dare stream the US game in the back of my conference today... me thinks yes...

I will need to contain my excitement less the site thinks I'm really excited about meaningful use.

Yeah Maatta has been the best Penguin in the tourney so far. Though I'm sure Sid will put up some garbage points vs Latvia, and all will be forgotten.

You can't always believe the things Pierre says but he mentioned rumors of tension between the NHL and KHL Russians-if there are league rivalry tensions on a team it also makes it harder to play like a team. Not really familiar with the KHLers on the team other than a couple or so but Ovie is prone to playing like an individual-especially when behind so not sure the KHL/NHL played a role for his poor performance.

If that is the case yes, I'm sure it would make it more difficult. But not impossible- we're talking about the Olympics here and being held at home you'd think they would all be professional enough to set it aside for two weeks. But perhaps not.

Right, at some point, you would think they'd take a hard look at themselves and try to change the way they do things. Besides Datsyuk, they are all pretty much the same type of player.

if I'm Putin I become a dictator and bring back the old days- take away their freedom and get back to playing as a group and not individualistic.

Putin is at the crossroad here and needs to decide does he want gold medals or this humiliation.

Hey guys,

I know it is an odd question, but ever since I saw team Finlands white jerseys the other day I want one. I have not been able to find them online however. any idea where these may be for sale? I see that Nike makes them, but I can't find them on their website, or elsewhere.

What a game by Rask today. While I was kind of hoping to see him get some rest before coming home to Boston it was pretty much worth to watch him be an absolute beast out there. Shades of the Pens playoff dominance. Definitely made his country proud and answered any questions about who deserved the starting spot for Finland. Hell maybe the swag of killin it for his country will do more good than rest would. And really the only guy I absolutely wanted to rest as much as possible was Chara so things are good.

Putin IS a dictator. He doesn't have the absolute power that Brezhnev for example had but he is still a dictator. If he can find a way to punish these guys he will do it.

If Finland medals, should Tuukka be considered the undisputed #1 goalie in the world?

I suppose if Quick absolutely dominates the next few games, he could take that title too.

doesn't he have to run for office:laugh:

it has been reported that if Russia hockey won the gold and they got nothing else it would have been a success

it's very hard to name the undisputed #1, Rask Quick Lundqvist are all really good.

He's already up there in my view, but even if he does win silver or gold, there will be people around here who will still find a way to criticize him. I still can't figure out their reasons, but I'm sure they have them.

Johnny Weir is awesome- I'd take Pierre out and stick him between the glass. I can only imagine what he would say. Seeing him and Don Cherry doing HNIC would be epic...I hate the term kiss and cry area; maybe just me, but I could be the worlds greatest figure skater and I would not go in that area for that reason alone.

Here come the humor police...

Imagine someone joking about how Kessel will be shipped to Guantanamo after missing the empty net in OT later on and the U.S. going out of the tournament because of it.

You'd find that funny?

Probably not, and the post would be deleted in no time, I guess.

I don't even care about the lame jokes, but either there's a no politics policy on this board or there isn't.

Pierre was being interviewed by a TSN analyst, and the analyst mentioned how Pierre has called nearly every game of the tournament so far. Poor choice of words, but he said "Pierre, you've pretty much pitched a tent in between those benches since arriving here." Pierre nodded enthusiastically.

The 12 year old in me lol'd.

Yes he does, officially :D:laugh:

I've heard plenty of talk that that was the case- as long as they got the hockey gold it didn't matter how they did in the other events. I wonder how that Russian skier who broke her spine in a training accident feels about that.

It wouldn't really bother me, to be honest.

I would hardly categorize any of those jokes as "politics." Yes, they are stupid jokes. So either choose to be entertained by them or simply ignore them. What do you care what some random guy on a message board says, anyway? We all know it isn't REALLY going to happen, thus it's a joke. I don't see why it is necessary to get all riled up about it. You only draw more attention to it that way.

I would...

I have a wild sense of humor though. I'd at least crack a smerk.

This... If you're easily offended, the internet is probably not the place for you.

Was going to post some videos of the Fin vs Russia game from my phone but it's not working.. Anyways Finland looked great today they capitalized on a few mistakes by Russia and played an otherwise pretty conservative game. What a story it'd be if Rask and those feisty Finns could pull an upset against Sweden.. Can't wait for the US vs Czech game just wish it'd start already! So far the Olympics have been a real treat and great change of pace from regular season action.. What a shame it'd be if NHL players can't compete in 2018.
