Meh, this Czech team is nothing to fear IMO, leading one of the few teams worse than them after the 1st period doesn't really change that.

Yikes, after Chara takes a captain-worthy tour of the offensive zone, Sekera hands the Czechs a goal. Gotta feel for the big man at this point.

He's got nothing to be ashamed of. Despite many experts lambasting everything Slovakia, from what I saw Chara was pretty steady back there. He did look really slow, but I expected that with the larger ice surface.

Well it's no longer a shut out-Hossa scores.

Slovakia really isn't all that good a team-makes me wonder how they took Russia to a shoot out.

He has to share some of the blame, I think. He's looked pretty passive on a lot of the goals against he's been on the ice for. I love the guy, but he's definitely not having a great tournament.

True. He just hasn't been nearly as bad as all the writer guys have made him sound. Even Goucher was on a couple nights ago critiquing Chara pretty harshly.

He certainly chugs along deliberately - but he's the type of guy who consistently puts the type of demonstrative effort that inspires teammates. Leadership.

Why didn't the Slovaks pull the goalie?

That penalty pretty much ends much hope to score.
