Really? Any specific threads or just comments here and there?

After that last game against them, **** them  I never cheered louder for an empty netter when we clinched that W against them...

Specifically the clinch thread. They cleared it up though and said they just wanted an epic series. I'm down for it if they feel like taking Pitt/Boston out for us

It's kind of weird to see all the NYR hate on the Jackets board. I don't mind them in the least and I've been rooting for them to do well ever since the trade.

Completely disagree. If they would have stayed in the West it'd be different but they're in our division now. They can go to hell with the rest of our division rivals.

I see why you feel that way but it hasn't really hit me yet that they are in our division. Maybe a playoff series would change that. IDK. I like too many of there players and they haven't really gotten in our way so far.

A silly reason why I don't want to play the Jackets in the first round is because I doubt we sweep and I don't want the Rangers to go down as the first team the Jackets beat in a playoff game in their history.

Nah. This would be different if they were still in the West.

They can **** off along with the rest of this division. **** em.

Can you blame them?

We sent them players we adored.

Gaborik
Dubinsky
Anisimov
Tyutin

They sent us underperforming guys that they invested a ton in.

Brassard
Zherdev
Nash

It's not like they were sending us fan favorites. We'd probably hate us too.

something to consider, Rangers among the hottest teams in the NHL at 7-2-1 in their last 10 games

Rangers started slow with all of October on the road and a new coach with a totally different system. It took the Rangers a lot of time to finally click and I'd put the turning point at the 12/20 loss to the Islanders which put them at 16-18-2. Since then, the Rangers have gone 28-13-3. At that winning percentage, across the whole season the team would currently be 51-24-5 = 107 points, same as the Penguins

Rangers can beat anybody in a best of 7, LGR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of teams can look great if you take away the poorest 35 games or so.

Lol wat?

Brassard has not under performed. I don't even really like the guy and hated the return for Gaborik and I'm willing to admit that.

Also Dorsett was a fan favorite. Despite the lies and back pedalling about Nash they would tell you now, he was a fan favorite and the franchise.

Gaborik and Anisimov players we adored? Hahahaha good one man. They were whipping boys most of their tenure here as well as Dubinsky. Stop making **** up and romanticizing players to try and prove a point.

Not relevant - I'm not taking out some random "poorest games". I'm taking out the first games when the new coach had to clean up the mess Tortorella left behind and how the team had to deal with being on the road against the stronger western teams for a whole month

What's absolutely relevant is the performance since that point in December which is the team now that's going into the playoffs

Hope they didn't peak at the wrong time, you know, like Boston.

Point is, this stuff can be spun any way you want it to be spun -- like the crap you just said about how the first part of the season was cleaning up the mess of the two previous teams who happened to be 1 of 2 teams in the entire NHL to make it past the first round of the '11-12 and '12-13 playoffs.

We'll see how good this team is starting next week.

you mean the team where a powerplay was a liability and star forwards were expected to lie on the ice for half their minutes?

yeah that worked out REALLLLLL well lol

Advanced further than any Ranger team in 20 years.

But other than that, you're absolutely right.

I feel like people should wait to see how AV's team does in the playoffs. Been hearing this crap about Torts' teams all season. I guess it's easy to talk **** when the playoffs haven't even started yet, and if we don't make it past the 1st round, no doubt the printing press of excuses (which are apparently only applicable to AV and not Torts) will be back out in full force.

:damnpc:

The Rangers slot coverage, aka the Red Light District, has been awful all season.

I didn't want to carry this on in the trade thread, but man, **** Dubinsky.

If "shiny new toy syndrome" is bringing in guys that have helped make us a better team than CBJ, and arguably the best NYR team of the past 10 years (the only real contenders are 11-12 and 06-07), so be it. Dubi was a complete no-show offensively the entirety of 11-12.

I'd love to play CBJ. **** their team (except Arty <3) and their fans. Since the team got their heads on straight they've proven they can match up physically with Columbus, and skill-wise it's not even a question. NYR in 5.

Yeah. It probably will be. I don't think a series of 4-7 games is a good measuring stick for a 90 game season.

It the 2011-12 team would have lost Game 6 in Ottawa does that change the team from good to bad?

My point is that people have been ******** on Torts all year when AV has yet to coach a playoff game for us. It's embarrassing.

His response will probably be "but they didn't". The fact is all of the "Winning!" people like to pretend that luck doesn't exist. In that game I remember us benefitting from a bad call and taking the lead. Game could have easily gone the other way.
