Horay for clinching!

But that NHL.com writer must be drunk: "The Rangers' attack found its stride when rookie Chris Kreider was matched on the wing opposite the high-scoring Rick Nash. With Derek Stepan in the middle, that top line's speed along the wing typified an attack that started scoring in bunches. "

That line had literally one great game, their first, after being paired, then they went into nothingland until they picked Nash for Canada, then nothingland again after that.

It's terrifying to me if the press is giving Nash big credit for our offense this season

Nash is presently 6th in scoring on the NYR team on pace for a 50 point full season
Pretty damned mediocre for a $7,8 M per year player that brings very little else to the game (he is paid to be a PPG player and cost that in assets)
The biased NHL media and its need to way overblow the significance of overrated Canadian players is downright sickening

We are ****ed if Marty keeps playing like garbage.

Also really need McDonagh back, and to a lesser extent Kreider.

4 biggest factors IMO:

1) play of Lundqvist. Can he carry the team and get hot?

2) play of Nash and MSL. Put up or shut up time.

3) the power play. It's been brutal over a month now. If they plan to go deep they need that deadly pp to come alive again because they don't score enough even strength

4) face offs. Stepan stinks. Brassard stinks. A lot of pressure on Moore and/or Boyle

I'm really anxious over the 2 spot. We just gave away 3 winnable points. If McDonagh were here I'd be super confident in the next 2 games, like this, not really. Not getting the 2 spot may mean the playoffs are short lived. The Flyers are evenly matched with us and really good at home. Hell we may fall out of a top 3 spot if we play with fire.

No need for anxiety. The Rangers could win series from the 2, 3, or even 4 seed. The only thing that matters is to avoid Boston in the first round.

Biggest issue to me is McDonagh. He will be back, but at what level? We've seen players with injured shoulders keep playing, only to get surgery after the season.

They've made the injury seem like nothing serious. Hope that's true.

I think we can take from our trip to the playoffs two years ago, we cant let all these series get to 7 games. Lets put the flyers down like Ol' Yeller in 5, hopefully ****tsburgh will be pushovers, and we take it from there.

Good point and frankly I'm glad we are not going to have to play ottawa

CF or bust.

Depth wins, but your best players need to be your best players.

Nash and MSL need to play like all stars and the depth this team has will make them a real threat.

If they don't score, another wasted opportunity.

I think the Pens, Habs, Flyers and Bruins are done in the 1st round.

If the Pens and Bruins are knocked out in the first round, there is zero reason for this team not to be in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Whether MSL is scoring or not.

#1 is and always be the key.
This team is #3 in the league in goals against despite the early season issues and some uneven play from Lundqvist, so if he gets hot we're in great shape.

#2 - This team unlike any Ranger team since the lockout is not 100% reliant upon a player or a line. We will certainly need the big guns to produce if we want to play deep into May, but having three lines is really nice and allows Nash and MSL some leeway if they go a couple of games without scoring.

#3 - Agree that they need more production, but the set-up, movement, shots on goal still light years better than anything put out in the Torts era.

#4 - Agree on face offs. Would be nice is Step, Brass, and Richards could all be 50% but that might be asking for more than they are capable of , particulalry Stepan.

Yeah, great point. Beat them in a short series and move on. Long first-round series are exhausting.

Whether MSL is scoring or not.

Why is that exactly?

I think any team in the playoffs would have a chance of knocking the Rangers off.

So, the Devils elimimate themselves from playoff contention, while giving the Rangers a playoff birth.

Would have preferred we do it on our own, but that's hilarious.

McD needs to come back healthy and in full force.

Poo - Brass - Zucc need to carry over their regular season play.

The power play needs to wake up and win us games.

PK needs to stay dangerous.

Nash needs to get angry.

MSL, where you at?

Kreider's speed in R2, or late R1 will be big.

Really itching to see a Bruins vs. Columbus match up. Whatever team leaves that series will be really beat up. Could be ripe for the kill.

a win over carolina and buffalo should lock up the 2 seed. philly wud basically need to win 3 of their final 4 games and get a point in the ohter game. i just cant see us losing to the rochester sabres so a win tonight should see us get home ice in the 1st round.

Bruins seem to be taking their first round team lightly. They lost to Hurricanes a few years back. Nearly lost to the Maple Leafs last year.
