It works like this. The winner of the 2/3 series plays the winner of the 1/wild card series winner based on which division they're in. For example, if the Rangers beat the Flyers, they would play the winner of the Pittsburgh series, regardless of the wild card's seed.

that definitely works in our favor then. I'd rather play Pittsburgh than Boston. That's to say if Pittsburgh advances to the second round.

I don't only post negativity. In fact if you read my posts about how good the Rangers are, most of them are positive. I get anxious after losses, especially since McDonagh doesn't seem to be coming back before the playoffs. Why do you only post about how much Nash sucks even when he's one of the best players in a game?

Because he doesn't finish when he plays high pressure games

YAY! We backed in whoooo hoooo! UGH!

That makes no sense. We didn't back in, we have 3 games and the Devils have something like 4. We just happened to make it on this loss, we still have 3 games to get points and the Devils 4 games to lose points, we just happened to have the Devils lose today and now they can't beat us. We won games all year to put us in this situation too. Backing in would have meant that the Devils lose the final game of the season that would have put them ahead of us. 2010-11 was more us backing into it, we don't get in the playoffs is the Canes didn't lose that game.

That's completely baseless. You say that he's lazy and ****, when he's one of our best players and creating the most chances. Doesn't finish when he plays high pressure games is you making **** up. Hell he scored a goal that was not rightfully taken away from him in maybe the most pressure game for him of his career in Columbus.

He had one goal in 12 playoff games last year... he **** his pants when the play gets tight

THANK YOU! It was so ambiguous on the NHL website...

Here we'll have the true test of the coaching change. Will the offense, such as it is, disappear completely in the playoffs? Or will it remain on the same general level we've seen it on in the regular season, taking only a slight hit, as is the case with most teams?

Not sure how we match up against the Flyers, since that team remains a complete enigma to me, as far as how they are successful.

Well, first off, the top payed players need to produce points. MSL needs to win over this fan base something fierce. I can't imagine there is a single Ranger fan that is happy with him right now. If he doesn't get it together and start hitting twine, we are going to be a sad, angry bunch . If he doesnt produce , I don't see us doing anything in the playoffs. Maybe we can get past the first with him still figure skating in faerie land, but if he can't figure it out :help:...
Nash. Don't be floaty mcfloaterson Nash. Be angry, motivated and dynamic Nash.
McD. Please be back, and not be like injured ghost mode hurt shoulder Gaborik playoff mode.
Hank. Be Henrik Lundqvist! Be the King! Stop a breakaway, and then go from there :sarcasm:,!
I think we finally have the scoring depth we need with guys like Brass, Poop, Zucc and Stepan getting points and contributing . Now if MSL, Nash and Beaver actually produce like they can, we may have a chance at glory. Don't get me wrong, Beaver has put up points. So has Nash. St. Louis , well , um hasn't , but how long can that last? It seems like its either our top guys score, and no one else does, or we get depth scoring. It would be great to have a few games of top play from top guys, that gets supplemented by depth scorers scoring.

I miss Torts hockey
Said no sane person ever
Congrats Rangers
The Big 3 need to put up big points
Hank needs to shine
God line is released and ready
McD needs to return
Fast needs to have an impact
Hagelin needs to avoid suspension
Kreiders hand heals for 2nd round duty
Then I can come to terms with losing a 1 st round pick and playing a WC team again

We need Nash and St. Louis to be the players we traded for and we need Lundqvist to not be his average 2013-14 Lundqvist. He needs to be the 2011-12 Lundqvist.

I think we can take from our trip to the playoffs two years ago, we cant let all these series get to 7 games. Lets put the flyers down like Ol' Yeller in 5, hopefully ****tsburgh will be pushovers, and we take it from there.

Horay for clinching!

But that NHL.com writer must be drunk: "The Rangers' attack found its stride when rookie Chris Kreider was matched on the wing opposite the high-scoring Rick Nash. With Derek Stepan in the middle, that top line's speed along the wing typified an attack that started scoring in bunches. "

That line had literally one great game, their first, after being paired, then they went into nothingland until they picked Nash for Canada, then nothingland again after that.

It's terrifying to me if the press is giving Nash big credit for our offense this season

As far as matchups, I think we're better off playing the Flyers than Columbus. Columbus' style is more of a playoff style and I trust our defense and goaltending a lot more than Philly's.

The only chance the Rangers do anything in the playoffs, is, as everyone else mentioned, St. Louis gets his head out of his ass and Nash plays a lot better than last year. Otherwise we don't have a chance, even in the first round.

We gotta start drawing up some playoff avatars. :)

Edit: lol I'm so tired I completely missed the avatar thread.

Congrats, boys. In a year where it really looked like NY might go 0-9 in making the playoffs, the Rangers and Nets pull it out.

Enjoy the ride!

We have a chance. Stepan has been good. Nash hasn't been bad lately. Ricky McDuck will be back. Zucc, Brass and Pouliot line is gonna be godly in the playoffs.

MSL needs to step up though. I expect nothing out of Richards.
