Bingo. Look at what happened to Chicago after their first cup run in 2010.

Remember the turnover they went through that off-season?

RW Dustin Byfuglien (traded to Atlanta)
LW Ben Eager (traded to Atlanta)
D Brent Sopel (traded to Atlanta)
C Colin Fraser (traded to Edmonton)
RW Kris Versteeg (traded to Toronto)
LW Andrew Ladd (traded to Atlanta)
C Adam Burish (unrestricted free agent, signed by Dallas)
C John Madden (unrestricted free agent, signed by Minnesota)
G Antti Niemi (unrestricted free agent, signed by San Jose)
D Kim Johnsson (unrestricted free agent)

Cash rules everything around me.

part of that was due to a screw up with paperwork on their RFA's. Overpaid guys like (at that time) Buff, Ladd and Versteeg

once they got signed they had to move guys.

get the money, dollar dollar bill yall

FWIW been told deal with STL fell through. Going to take further info from that source with a grain of salt.

Thankfully I don't post rumors often, cause if I did, any credibility would be gone.

Sorry, boys. I honestly thought the rumor was legit.

I doubt that "fell through" is the right description

Most deals that are discussed never happen. They don't fall through, they just don't get enough traction to get to a point of falling through.

The conversation may in fact have taken place and got no further than Rangers mentioning Shattenkirk and the Blues mentioning Miller amongst other assets.

it probably ended with some coined phrase of "lets circle back later in the summer"

I was told it was close. Same source now says DB is now #1 priority. Makes me think it's all just guesswork and he backed off when it never happened.

Either way I feel like a fool for getting all excited :)

Sather is trying to tap down some of the monetary requests.

http://video.rangers.nhl.com/videocenter/?id=627168

Stajcer wasn't qualified. Hip injuries. Didn't develop.

No choice but to amnesty Richards.

Wants team players

Rangers expect Miller to play this season

Zuccarello had a great year. One really good year.

Kreider began the year in the minors.

Sather is playing the negotiating game.

Doesn't like the interview period. Gorton doesn't like it. Lou doesn't like it either.

they don't like it because it allows players to see beyond the massive offer and through Sathers BS

Con artists don't like it when their vics have time to make a proper decision

He doesn't ;).

He does have an almost comparable Corsi to Klein, though (but he faces easier competition), which should be another indicator we should trade Klein to resign Stralsy.
The fact that the Rangers may lose Stralman and/or Pouliot while paying Klein $2.9 bugs me to no end.

I know. However, I have been fed accurate info from the guy previously and was not told the ++, so I honestly thought something was getting done.

Seems I was wrong and I know the joke's on me.

Haha no worries.

I see Evander Kane didn't get traded like the another board insider insisted

It also allows the player to get a little dose of reality.

What did Sather say thats wrong?

We don't have any sort of players like Kane, Toews or Hossa that we are building a team around though. So that's a moot point.

The only place we match up with Chicago is D and obviously goalie.

We need to have more depth. Chicago can get by with having a more mediocre 3rd and 4th lines then us because their top end talent (not even counting Sharp) is amazing.

This... especially if we're not bringing in another high priced player (maybe pushing others down).. we need to have that good depth that we had last season.
