He lost 3-1.

Gave up 3 goals on 19 shots.

Gotta fault SKA on this one. This is what happens when you leave goalies on the bench for weeks at a time, and in the playoffs nonetheless. This was his 2nd game of the month. Hopefully they lose the series and we never hear of SKA again.

Edit - Just watched the goals, literally none his fault. First was a perfect tip on the powerplay that hit the bar and came right down for the guy to score (no defense to be found). Second was a crazy deflection off his defenseman that went stop shelf. Third was a perfectly executed 2 on 1.

He’s prob going right back to the bench. Kid doesn’t seem to step up when needed. It’s concerning this happens far to often for my liking

Did you even bother to look at the goals?

Nope don’t need too. This happens every time he’s in a big spot. He plays mediocre. 3 goals on 19 isn’t good enough and Alex Nunn tweeted the second one he’d want back.

This has been a nightmarish playoffs for him when he’s supposed to be ready to make the jump to the NHL

What do you mean you don't need to? Do you realize how dumb that sounds?

Didn’t show up for a big game. I didn’t need to see it to know it happened again. I trust guys like Nunn when they say he was shaky. Looks like he’s made some big stops today though. He needs this game badly. The momentum towards Georgiev is growing by the day.

I've never seen a person analyze games/players the way you do. Touche.

It was his second game in a month or so, and the goals he did give up were not weak softees.

You're spewing nonsense right now and you have nothing to back it up because you didn't watch the game. Don't be that guy that gets into discussion about things he's oblivious to.

End of regulation, tied 1-1. Shest stopped 13 of 14. The only goal he gave up was a terrible giveaway behind the net with 5 seconds left in the 1st, then everyone stood around with terrible defensive coverage and the player made an easy cross crease pass to his teammate who slammed it into the empty side of the net. Nothing he could do. SKA has really fallen apart in this round. No offense at all and terrible defensive mistakes.

To be fair, it’s not totally great that he isn’t a given starter in Europe.

The situation with SKA is much more complicated than with other teams in Europe or even the KHL.

Also, I'm not arguing for or against Shesty, but judging a performance based on how many goals he gave up versus how many shots he faced is insane.

So I didn’t watch the game but I can understand that he just had a big time win. And made a game saving stop. Good sign

He shouldn’t be glued to the bench for a month at this stage of his career. I don’t need to watch the game to know that. Call a spade a spade. He has to be better. Today he was clearly. Did you watch the game?

How can you say he has to be better when he didn't let in a weak goal?

The total disregard for any sort of context in pretty much all of @Kovalev27 's "analysis" is truly astounding. The guy have a set of expectations and if these expectations are not met for ANY reason - watch out.

The funny thing is he's one of the smarter posters around here.
