Is this guy ever coming over or what? Losing my patience. With everything, but with Rangers in particular.

He's still playing hockey for the team he's currently under contract with.

When his season is done there's a good chance he'll sign a contract with the Rangers and come over next season.

I know there is a good chance. But Vasilevskiy is the same age, and the best goalie in the NHL. Our guy is in Russia.

23 years old is not late for a goalie to join the NHL. Really the only difference is he's playing in the KHL instead of the AHL, which is where European goalies usually spend a couple years before becoming backups/starters in the NHL.

Yes and? Vasilevsky came over when there was a chance to get the starting spot. What should Shestyorkin have done? Come over in 2015 and sit behind Lundqvist for 6 years?

Vasilevsky was also a high draft pick and arguably had less of a development need. He came over pretty quick and was thrust into a sharing/starting job pretty fast. He's a very talented player and was able to handle a quick transition.

I think Shestyorkin was always thought of as needing some development time and he's done well with that. As you say he also has had Lundqvist in front of him for years. Now is a good time for him to come over. If he decides not to, then I guess we'll see what Georgiev can do.

I would say the odds of him not coming over are very slim

Going to be very crowded in September with Georgiev Hank and Shesterkin all there. Hank to me feels like the third wheel at this point of his career.
