I really like Polak and think he was a bit underrated.

I really don't know a whole lot about Gunnerson so I'm trusting your guys' reaction. What type of D man is he?

3 more picks to go before us. Karlsson is still there...Lindblom, Point as well.

By the way, both Polak and Gunnarson are under contract for the next 2 seasons. Gunnarson has a cap hit of 3.15 mil, which is 400k higher than Polak's 2.75 mil

Toronto fans are saying Gunnarsson played on the top pairing with Phaneuf...sounds like he'll likely be Shatty's partner. Interesting.

Yeah, that works. Gunnerson isn't great but his is a defensive defenseman who is mobile and can pass. Can play powerplay, although not ideal. No physical game though. Uses his stick.

That's one thing I'm going to miss, Polak was a great physical part of our D. I think it's at least a lateral trade. Gunnerson fits well in the Blues D and if he improves phsycial game, could have a lot of up-side to Polak.

Point is gone. Karlsson, Lindblom still there. I have a feeling we pick someone we've never heard of before.

Yep, don't know much about Walman at all, but he was the league's rookie of the year in 13'14. Set for Providence College. LHD, so that's good.

Walman for the Blues! I'm very excited about that. The main board has some very nice opinions on the kid. He played in a lower jr. league in Canada, but was by far the best player in the league. He apparently swept all the awards there. I'm happy with it.

Why the **** is NHL Network talking about Matt Finn when picks are being made? Stupid Toronto biased media.

read a tweet that says Gunnarsson just had significant hip surgery which was a factor in the trade.

Hope we don't miss the physicality of Roman

Jake Walman: Toronto Jr. Canadien (OJHL) defenseman

Going to Providence College. He's a good skater and has some offensive up-side. Will need to bulk up but has a pretty solid frame (6'1") to build some muscle on

Walman is small but physical and possibly fastest D in the draft according to the quick scouting report I looked up. So we are replacing Polak's speed and physicality. :)

Isnt Karlsson falling pretty far now? I thought he was going mid/late second round or early third.

6'1 isnt what i'd call small. Quick scouting report also says he plays tough
