I thought about him also for a late round pick up, but I don't know if the Kings really want to go into the Q for another goalie. That's a real gamble to be honest.

If they are going to grab a late round goalie I'd like to see them go after Matt Mancina from Guelph.

The Kings under Lombardi and Futa, despite their affinity towards the OHL, have never drafted an OHL goalie.

Conversely, they have drafted 3 QMJHL goalies out of 6 drafted in total.

Just one of their interesting drafting tendencies.

I don't know if it's ever been mentioned or not, but were you ever a goalie? I ask because you sure seem to love your goalies. :)

In regards to having only 4 goalies, I think that's plenty, especially when you figure that all 4 should make it to the nhl. If anything, I see a log jam, not a shortage. I'd be perfectly fine signing an undrafted kid, much like we did with Jones.

ALL four should make the NHL? That seems a bit ambitious.

I don't know if this is the place for it but I think that he could be moved for a pick or a positional upgrade in the draft but does anyone have any ideas on where Nolan will end up? Sure sounds like he could be on the move before next season starts so if that is the case then I wonder where he will go.

Obvious choice would be Buffalump but he has proven himself to be a valuable agitator and a player who can be a solid bottom 6er for a championship team. If he is to move I am sure that there will be some solid interest.

My list goes up in a day or so. Just waiting to get it back.

I doubt Nolan has much leverage in terms of getting us an upgrade, At the draft he'd likely be worth a 4th round pick.

Futa didn't come in until the 2007 draft, so only four goalies under him and Yanetti, two from the Q and two from the OHL

Candidates at 29

Barring a trade up or down:

How about Vladislav Kamenev? Wants to come to No. America;
Eric Cornel, finally showing some up of his potential in the OHL;
Ryan MacInnis, big center; but is he too disengaged at times?

Kamenev has a contract with the KHL until 2015-2016 so that may be an issue -- all depends on how restrictive the terms are or if there even is an out-clause written in.

Last year they did the whole draft in one day right? I liked that better to be honest.

Now I'll not only be there, I'll be covering it. Will be there both days doing interviews and giving my feedback on picks. Most excited I've ever been. Draft is my favorite day of the year.

Also thanks BD. And Julius, yes, I will unofficially possibly be at the Phillies game after game 2. Hopefully they have cheap beer and good hot dogs.

Get a cheesesteak and a Camaro. When in Rome......

You can guarantee I'm finding myself a good cheesesteak. There's a few foods in places I've always wanted to try. Pastrami on top of a burger in Salt Lake restaurant. Real NY pizza, and the $1000 lobster and caviar pizza one place sells there. And Philly cheesesteaks.

Have you tried the NY Pizza yet? I know several good places

Nope. Only time in NY was driving from Cali to NH. Only stop I made was sleeping in Buffalo on the roadie out here. Haven't done any traveling out here unfortunately.

Frank Pepe's in New Haven, CT! If your driving from New Hampshire it'll be on your way. Better then anything in NYC. Consider by many to the best pizza in the country.

It looks like I need to go to NH

I tried Lombardi's pizza the one time I went to NY, and just like their hockey team, their pizza was overrated. Didn't try any other pizza joints. Seems like I fell for the tourist trap of a very busy pizzeria, and what I ended up was this watery pizza where everything slid off the dough. My girlfriend makes better pizza at home.

So, which of these prospects you guys think would be great at tossing dough?

As for attending the draft, should be fun if there is a flurry of activity. I've attended draft parties hosted by the Kings (in 2003, 2007 and 2008) and attended the 2010 draft in LA and I must say, the best drafts are those that have some surprises in them. The 2010 draft was kinda dull, probably because I prefer seeing and hearing the TSN crew analyzing the draft and discussing trade rumors.
