Klefbom sounds like hes really hitting his stride in the AHL. Nelson said he was the best D most nights and already has 4 points in 4 games

Could be ready to handle top 4 minutes in the NHL soon

Defending champions Texas Stars came all the way back to tie it 5-5, but the Barons won it in OT. Klefbom had to have played most of the 6 minutes of OT. He got a second assist on the OT game winner, the only defenseman on the ice in 3v3. He did have what sounded like a tough giveaway to Morin during 4v4 OT as Morin got in on him on a forecheck.

That puts Klefbom up to 1-4-5 +4 in 4GP.

William Lagesson has 5 points (3 on the PP) and is +2 in 8 games this year. He also has 20 PIMS. He is a very intriguing prospect. I really hope we get to see him in the world juniors come Christmas time. I think he is a prospect we will need to be patient with, but with time he could be a steal.

Is he in the SHL or whatever the former SEL is called? If so that is one hell of a start.

EDIT-What the hell? I didn't know that he came over to NA to play! Solid start offensively, it'd be interesting to know what those pim's entailed.

I think the plan for Lagesson is to go the NCAA route. Similar path to that of Minni prospect Gustav Olofsson. I don't think Lagesson gas commited to a program yet though.

Hooking
Roughing
2 and 10 for Unsportsmanlike Conduct (don't know what happened here but he went with another player on the other team)

He's got a pretty big shot so that's probably why you find him on the PP. He does have some unlocked offensive potential, though not a highly skilled guy he makes and takes a pass ok. Hopefully him getting PP time develop those offensive traits. Intriguing player indeed.

Klefbom had more points in one game than he did in his highest scoring year in the SEL.

Whatever happened to Erik Gustafsson? He looks like he's doing well this year in Sweden. Do we still own his rights and does anyone know if we are going to sign him?

Nurse also with a G last night... however the on going theme of SSM's lack of defensive discipline continues... he was a -4 on the night after having to play Domi all evening in a 8-5 loss

Evan Campbell with another goal and assist tonight.

He's now at 3 goals and 5 assists in 7 games.

Very unexpected that he's showing signs of life. And it's in the NCAA so it's not a case of an overage junior player dominating minions.

Strong weekend for William Lagesson. A goal, an assist and +3 in two games.

The goal was his first USHL goal.

His statline: 1G, 6A, 20PIMS, +5, in 10 games.

That's actually really good considering Hanifin was a .67 ppg player and is considered an elite d prospect

Quite the scrap! Some nice praise from the colour guy.

Boy the Oilers could use his slapper

I remember his slap shot was a weakness when drafted but improved last year and now looks like a rocket this year. Hopefully the big shot from the point on the PP

Greg Chase was a healthy scratch in Saskatoon on Tue. related to on-ice discipline. He has since requested a trade and has returned home.

Seems very weird considering how highly Eakins and co. raved about him during the pre-season. Maybe he doesn't like being in Calgary. :naughty:

Any chance he gets traded to Oil Kings?
