Bylsma tried playing Iginla at LW after he was traded to Pittsburgh and it was a disaster. On Boston, Iginla played his natural RW position and had a good season.

That blows. I think if we added a top 6 RH LW, it would be beneficial. Vanek is not the answer. Maybe put Nash at LW then. I don't even think my scenario would fit under the cap, I'd have to look at the numbers.

I am a huge ROR fan. Don't see the Avs letting him go though.

I like the Vrbata idea. Underrated player. And he had a hatty against the Rangers this year, so if history is any indication he will be on the radar.

Under the radar is what I see. Who's the gooner? Nash? Can we get a dman for him that fits the system, I saw Pouliout from Pens and why not give Pens Nash put him with Crosby it's ballsy as hell but at this point Nash just isn't doing what he should do. Make Brad and Nick the fall guys. Trade Rick gets some talent, he gotta be worth something right? Spend the last CBO on Brad, abuse the cap system in rich style going back to what we was in 2012. A deep team like we was being then, get rid of these overpaid fading stars.

staal for ROR, Pavs etc would be ideal..

but staal is most likely staying and I am ok with that.. dude is only leaving if he wants to.. Rangers till the end..

Nash is a good player.. dude had a concussion, missed a lot of games and still almost netted 30 goals.. that my friends doesn't grow on trees, once Kreider is a consistent 30g scorer i don;t trade nash.. dude didn't show up in the playoffs but its not like he didn't try and wasn't impact full. richard looked awful and couldnt even keep up with the play.. that IMO is an obv and not OK, way worse.. especially since he gets paid top $$$$$$ more then nash..

The team still needs a #1 center.

Pavelski or Spezza would be ideal. Would also see if Colorado would deal ROR, but I believe Patrick Roy loves him a lot, and for good reason. ROR could become a better version of Bergeron.

When Stepan can break 60 points, or puts up close to 40-40 numbers (although this season may have been a fluke for Pavelski), then let me know.

Pavelski can put up 25 goals and 50 assists type numbers with good defense and face off ability.

Pavelski didn't put up 60 points until he was 26. Stepan put up 57 this past year. He's 23. I'm not seeing it as an issue.

Yup. Everyone's so quick to shower Pavelski with praise despite the fact that he has been in a much more comfortable position than Stepan has in their respective careers thus far. Stepan hasn't had the benefit of playing on Thornton's wing, or even behind a center as good as Thornton (who draws the tough matchups). Stepan has been our de facto #1 for two seasons now.

A lineup with Pavelski, Stepan, Brassard, D Moore with a sprinkle of JT Miller, Brian Boyle gets resigned and Miller and Moore play wing on the bottom lines.

Center depth wins championships.
They all dont need to be superstars.

I'm more eager to get someone like Pavelski primarily for center depth, not necessarily because he is the prototypical 1C that everyone is talking about. Center depth is a very important aspect of building a championship team, as we just saw with the Kings.

From what I had seen, Mathieu Perreault had a good season. I feel like he might be a nice fit with Hags. We'd then have Stepan, Brass, Miller, Boyle, and Moore all capable of playing C.

Perreault is capable of about 40 points and is relatively quick. I feel like he might be an option if we get his rights from Anaheim.

I nanosecond this. :sarcasm:

I nanothird it. Plug Miller in on the wing and let Pouliot go:

Kreider Stepan Nash
Miller ROR MSL
Hagelin Brassard Zuccarello
Boyle Moore Dorsett

Bring back Stralman, let McIlrath, Allen, and a low-cost vet compete for the last defensive spot

McDonagh-Girardi
Moore-Stralman
Allen/Vet-Klein

Still doesn't address the need for a PMD. I think Pouliot contributes to the third line with his size and get-in-front-of-the-net play. Kreider would be the only guy left who does that.

What do you think Miller's going to do? He plays a power game, has size, and will go to the net. The PMD issue will fix itself as we add Allen, Skjei, and possibly Bodie or Andersson to the mix over the next few years.

I know Miller as a 2nd line center would be pushing it but he would have two solid vets on his wings.

I agree with you in that sense, I think Pavelski fits in pretty well, but he's far from anything more than a slight upgrade on Stepan, if that.

Yeah he would be an upgrade, certainly not a major one. It would mainly be about the depth for me.
