Where woulda ya rank him now?

Easily in the 5-8 range. He just flipped a switch I didn't see coming in the second half of the year. On the flip side, Auger kind of drifted towards the end. That's why I have always sort of hated putting a hard "Ranking" on any of these guys. It is so hard to tell after your top 3-4 prospects.

And...here's the last article for the night. I do hope you all take a chance to read this one. It's from the heart and my personal goodbye after an amazing two years covering the team.

Thank You...And Goodbye

WMUR completely sucks - from their "lead" sports anchor calling the WB-S Penguins the "WB-S Pioneers" (a defunct arena football team) to their abysmal coverage of the Monarchs from the beginning. A piss-poor excuse for a local tv station.

I was there at the home opener in 2001, to the final game in 2015. in those 14 years, I think I missed maybe 10 games.

Went on road trips to Portland, Worcester, Providence, Springfield, Bridgeport, Hartford, Hershey, Lowell, Albany, Rochester, Binghamton, Toronto, and Hamilton, making friends with hockey fans from all over the place.

Watched Boudreau, Hughes, Morris & Stothers behind the bench. Good teams, great teams, mediocre teams, all but one year making the playoffs.

Watched the baby Monarchs turn into Stanley Cup Champions - twice.

Watched the kids this year go from untested rookies to AHL champs.

Made so many great friends through the years that I would never have known but for this team.

Having this team bring home the Calder Cup in the final season as our team is bittersweet.

Was one of the crazy ones at the arena at 4:30 this morning to meet the bus as it arrived from Utica - one of about 100 people who sacrificed a little sleep to show the boys how much the win means to us.

Will be attending the celebration on Tuesday, most likely with tears in my eyes.

missed the Pioneers quote. I am not surprised
missing 10 games or so in all those years is something else. I was a 1/2 season ticket holder for the first half dozen years before finances and the hours of my job caught up with me and I just couldn't get to the games as much as I would of liked.
I have met so many awesome folks over the years for sure. Had those street hockey games awhile back with folks from the booster club and anyone else who wanted to play.
I remember on their first run to the East Final a bunch of us met the team at the arena at like 2 am after they beat Worcester. Would of loved to have been there with you guys. Just didn't get any info on when they were getting in.
I am going to try and be there Tuesday.

good stuff man. you articles were always top notch. thanks for the effort and hard work you put in.
I as well feel so good for Ken Cail. The guy never missed a game(at least I don't remember him missing one). Sure he is a homer. but he is a fan of this team and that's what makes his calls so awesome.
I know he has a political show on a local FM station but I would venture to guess that may be pushed aside tomorrow and maybe a couple more days this week.

Thank you, sir. Means a lot.

Ken truly is the man. You won't meet many nicer people. And seriously, drinking with him and hearing stories from the Monarchs history is truly amazing.

Jason, would your ranking be somewhat like this especially after the Monarchs individual Playoff performances...??!

best wishes CNS. hope you get that scouting gig.
go west young man, go west. :handclap:

Thank you! I'm getting some help, and hopefully it's enough to push me over the edge and land a gig doing what I really want to do.

Andy/CNS, It was pleasure to finally meet you the other night, and once again a wonderful job this season. Your coverage will be missed. Hopefully Mayors Manor will have someone covering the Reign next season as you've done the past 2 years. Best of luck in the future!

Great to meet you too, Brent. And thank you. MM will have someone awesome in Ontario next year. Don't worry about that.

I am a local as many of us are so I'll be sure to harass him and whoever else it is!

So happy for you buddy. Enjoyed your coverage very much and I'm glad everything lined up for you in such a way that you got this opportunity in the first place...let us know anytime you're ready to visit the better part of the state ;)

Just wanted to echo what you said in that final blog too, I think we could see your growing comfort and your ever-growing abilities as a writer, interviewer, and talent evaluator all along. Congrats again! Hell of a ride and what a way to finish for everyone here!

Thank you so much man. It's been such an amazing journey. I know when I'm old, the stories I remember and tell will all be about this team. Seriously amazing group.

I'm sure I'll end up SoCal at some point because I'm a masochist like that.
