That's even more ridiculous than the anti-NA theory. You're going to cut one of the better players there because he was late to a video meeting?
Wouldn't be surprised to see Compher centering the checking line that goes up against the Domi-Reinhart-Duclair line. That's being leaned on, IMO.
Still not as ridiculous as the Latvian coach not inviting our only 2 decent U-20 CHL players and instead relying on a bunch of 17 and 18-year-olds to do the job. That's even more ridiculous than the anti-NA theory. You're going to cut one of the better players there because he was late to a video meeting?
Because he wasn't named captain he is apparently dead to them? Thats seems a tad melodramatic don't you think ?
As for who they will lean on. In tournaments like this it's usually the hot hand or what ever player fits the situation best. Defensively I'm sure Compher will get his ice time. Offensively it all depends on how he is playing.
Iirc leading up to the tournament the talk was Compher was going to center the checking line.
Chairs and a podium. That was Connor McDavid’s first victory of the season in his battle for the hearts and minds of the hockey world with Jack Eichel. Both 2015 draft phenoms had the opportunity to play at First Niagara Center, the home of the Buffalo Sabres, in the fall, and both were incredibly impressive.
Eichel, who went first, posted two points and earned MVP honors at the All-American Prospects Game, an annual showdown featuring the top draft-eligible prospects from the United States. A month later, McDavid’s Erie Otters hosted the Niagara IceDogs in a special Ontario League game that ended with him ravaging the competition for four points in an 8-4 stomping. When it was time to meet the press, McDavid got a podium, and the scribes were seated. Eichel had to stand for his post-game scrum.
I thought he'd be a winger on that line?

it's the most wonderful time of the year, Canada losing their minds over the WJC
The only things I hear really out of Canada are that they hate their goaltending, hate Gauthier and the rest is just setting the bar so low for what McDavid should be able to do in his return that if he doesn't fall down he's the best player since man first put foot to ice.
Damn. That's a spanking
