There remains no more excuses now to bash Hockey Canada:

Can't win outside of North America. Check.
Can't win on "true" big ice (because those 3ft less in SLC 2002 mattered). Check.
Can't go undefeated. Check, and how about not even trailing in any game.

Pure dominance this tournament where the team played like the roster of superstars they are.

Canada wins three of the last four Olympics. Four of the last five best on best tournaments. Dominated a tournament on large ice, and in Russia no less. Nothing else to say about that.

Those last two games featured team pay from Canada that we have never seen before. Great job by everyone involved, from the managers to the coaches and of course the players. Every single player, even those we didn't think should be on the team, did their job. Glad to be wrong.

That is all.

Loved the MSL interview after the game. It meant so much to him. Glad he got playing time and played so well today.

I am off, boys - need to get some sleep.

Congrats to Team Canada and all the Canadian fans. We are the BEST!!!!!!

Steve Yzerman says he's never seen a Team Canada this dominant. Says his memory goes back to '74 Canada Cup.

Offensively it wasn`t but he`s so right, even against Latvia/Finns when the games were super tight on the scoreboard, I just never felt for a minute either team would fight through for the winner

A couple guys I don't get to see play often that I was really impressed with this tourney were Benn and Doughty.
Benn can skate, he's strong on the boards, wicked shot and has surprisingly good vision and passing ability. His line with Getzlaf and Perry was absolutely dominant in the offensive zone today.
I knew Doughty was one of the best D in the NHL coming in, but his poise with the puck and decision making was amazing. Seeing him dance through the neutral zone and gain the blueline with ease was a sight to see.

Nice to come on here and not read 80 posts insisting PK Subban should have been playing:laugh:

Haha, I'm actually a Habs fan and would have loved to see him play more but he seemed happy at the end, so that's good enough for me.
Maybe this will motivate him to round his game out more, not that I think he's as terrible defensively as some make him out to be.

This. As long as TC win the Gold, I don't mind PK sitting out.

I "thought" at some point, someone would struggle and open the door for him but, it never happened.

This

And this. :nod::nod::nod:

Feels ****ing good, man. The fact that this team was so tactically perfect in their biggest moments was just a joy to watch. The only regret I have is that we only got to see this team play 6 games.

The fact that Toews and Crosby just cashed in after all their good play, and that a defense for the ages shut down such a high octane offense, was just icing on the cake.

As a huge Kunitz detractor who protested his selection from the start and wished him to be scratched after the first 3 games, I have to eat some crow. He played much better as the tournament went on and was pretty good in all the elimination games.

he played better as it went along but with the brutal start he had there was nowhere to go but up, so many plays died on his stick in this tourney

Canada dominated the whole time on the ice.

To those who called me crazy and said PK should have been on the ice and we'd be better with him there; I said from the start exactly what happened!

Maybe I should be a part of Team Canada... hahahahaha :D
