Kunitz had more scoring chances than any other player. What were Nash and Carter doing?

I'm not a fan of Kunitz being on the team, but the Kunitz bashing is ridiculous. Why isn't anyone talking about how bad Sharp played? He was the worst forward tonight.

After todays game, there's no chance Kunitz won't be in next game. The 1st line was by far the best line, and only line that was able to hem the americans in their own zone on every shift.

Nash and Carter had good games. Carter is a staple on the PK and Nash is a beast on the forecheck.

for all the pre-games talk of a decent percentage of canadian posters wanting to have marleau as the 13th forward or scratched, he's been damn good out there.

Hasn't potted any goals but he has more than warranted getting the call to make the team.

go ducks!!! said the alum . . .

It's the same non-Montreal fans that keep bringing it up to incite Montreal fans to react. It would have died a long time ago if not for that.

I don't care which fans bring it up. I just don't know why it's being discussed. If he played the left side and was benched, I'd agree whole-heartedly.

I still think it isn't Kunitz' fault for Crosby's lack of production. We gave him someone he had chemistry with and they until the fifth game to rekindle it.

DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS. All of our forwards have helped defensively. We've ran into so many collapsing teams or hot goaltenders.

Stay confident in the team that was chosen. I know I am.

Really? In 10 mins. of ice time Sharp had 5 shots on goal. The most of anybody. He was solid at the point on the power play, getting a few good shots in deep. I also saw him intercept at least 3 passes in the neutral zone to turn the play into the offensive zone. He arguably played a mistake-free game while generating a fair amount of offense and nearly scoring on a few chances. He played a solid game.

What an absolutely ridiculous post. Carter was one of the best forwards tonight, better than Kunitz in all facets.

I would rather Sharp play with Crosby over Kunitz, he may have converted that chance alone with Quick. Much better hands on Sharp, better speed, better defense, better shot.

Two sure things...Germany and Canada

There are two undeniable truths:

1. Germans love David Hasselhoff

2. Canadians love Sidney Crosby (for one two week period every four years)

Pretty sure no ones relies on #87 to win the gold for them, to many players on this team that can do it for themselves.

If a media person asks that question on TV to a player then they will say Crosby blaa blaa blaa; because they're supposes to.

As a Canadian, I'd love him on the 3rd or 4th line best.

Canadians sure haven't been loving Crosby in this tournament so far (even though I think he's played well, just hasn't finished/his teammates haven't finished AKA Kunitz keeps flubbing passes). He's been heavily criticized.

Ron MacLean's comments on Sidney Crosby.

When previewing the Gold Medal Game, Ron MacLean said that games such as the Gold Medal Game are Sidney Crosby's "meat".

I like this match up for Canada. The centres should have their way with Sweden's centres. The wingers are fast and defensively responsible enough to cover Sweden's wingers in transition, and the defence did tremendously against a more dangerous attack from USA. Sweden's defencemen aren't exemplary outside of Karlsson or Ekman Larsson, and the former is playing only offensive minutes (somewhat understandable) while the later barely plays. There is no reason Canada's forwards can't do to this defence what they did to USA. Hopefully they finish this time.

I'm thinking 3-1 Canada, with two early goals. Sweden pushes in the third and scores, but Canada gets it back soon after.

More than it being a "gold medal game", I think Crosby facing Lundqvist is a bigger reason for fans to be encouraged. Great goalie, but one of those whose number Sid seems to have.

Crosby, as far as I have seen, has been consistently excellent all tourney. I don't know how many chances Kunitz has had, and he always seems to make the right play. The puck just isn't going in for him, but he has still been a difference maker.

Crosby will be invisible for most of the game and then score the gwg on an innocent looking play.

Then he'll be hail as the hero and greatest there was.

Yep, because being invisible all game is 'business as usual' for Crosby.

No chance of scratching Hamhuis for Subban exclusively for PP, right?

(not that it really matters, neither will see the ice)

I am not the smartest person when it comes to Roman numerals but is this really thread 22?

Holy smoke if it is!!! Was thread one started in 2010?
