Whoever's job it was to pick players of the game in the CAN-USA tilt had the world's easiest job. Both goaltenders were ridiculously awesome.

Grzelcyk has game breaking ability that the US couldn't afford to cut IMO, not a single even strength goal against Russia or Canada.
"
In was in favor of Grzelcyk being on the roster but I have not really watched Seiloff play so to really criticize the coach from my view would be somewhat stupid. All I can say is that one NHL organization
rated Seiloff more highly than the BU kid as they took him instead of Grzelcyk. Now a former
NHL All - Star dman. has taken Seiloff ahead of Grzelcyk. So its disengenuous at best to come across like
its a choice coming in from right field.

Not impressed with Canada at all.... Strome, Schieflele (sp), RNH and Huberdeau would all be in the pros right now if there was a season.

USA needs to grow some snipers...they have the rest down pat.

yup!!!! dumb cut. He has monster written all over him on the PP. Kid is rare combo of fast and quick- can come off the point back door on PP without anyone picking him up. I'm disappointed he did not play but imo I'm so pumped the Bruins drafted him.

Kudos to Kirk on this call- I knew little, he said he had some really unique skills and was a big time sleeper:handclap:

Kirk also said he would have taken Jimmy Vesey LAST draft....and nobody did, and that kid is going to be a dynamite player... Unreal skills and head on his shoulders,

Vesey was one of the best players on the ice IMO. Trouba was easily the best defenseman as well.

True but Team USA's supposed top players Grimaldi and Gaudreau haen't done anything all tournament yet are still getting minutes instead of Galchenyuk who while playing limited minutes leads the team in points.

That's very true Lou, but then the team would of been put together differently, which I'm sure you know.

As for the US, well I agree with the commentators today, they spread themselves out to much and no one was willing to crash the net at times.

I really thought the US was going to win.

I've yet to watch a WJC game yet this week, but keep reading on main boards that Hamilton has been a major disappointment. Any truth to this?

I think many expected the defending CHL defenceman of the year to be a big contributor on the PP and the type of guy who might be able to dictate the play when he's on the ice. He hasn't been able to do that.

Personally, I don't think he has been GREAT but he had been good in all 3 games. I'd like to see a little more from him in the offensive zone but I'm not disappointed in him. Actually, I'm very pleased with his process in the defensive zone. This year's Dougie is far better in his own end than last year's Dougie.

The kid had a solid offensive game vs Russia last year. I hope he can follow that up with another solid game. This time, at both ends of the ice.

Hamilton has been fine. Not great, but solid overall.

Don't listen to the main boards. There are a ton of Leafs fans and every one of them will try to passive aggressively (or outright aggressively) tell you that Hamilton has been terrible.

Yes, I find myself quarreling with Leafs fans about whether Hamilton will have a better career than Cody Franson, Drake Berehowsky or Brendan Bell . . .

Good first period for the USA, except for that truly dumb stick penalty resulting in a 5 minute major.

It looks like Vesey replacing Grimaldi was a good move.
