Can't decide if I want them to win or lose today. Win, and I have to keep caring. Lose, and I can not give a **** for the rest of the year. Which would be nice. But, it's the Eagles. I spent a year in that dump of a city at prep school the year they went to the SB (never rooted for a team not named the Redskins as hard as I rooted for the Patriots that year) and I've loathed everything about Philly sports since. The worst sports fans, and by and large people in general, I've ever been around. And, the resale value of my season tickets plummets with every loss. But, a loss also means but changes in store (or at least **** canning Haslett) is a near certainty this offseason. Still, we don't have a 1st rounder so tanking doesn't really help. Hmmm...

I played football in College and coached HS, but I have no NFL experience as a player, coach or front office person so you are right I dont' know much about NFL asset management because I don't have much experience at the NFL level beyond being a fan. You on the other hand sound like you must have NFL experience as a player, coach or front office person. Which team are you affiliated with?

There is more to me not being opposed to trading for Roethlisberger then just wanting to bail on a 23 year old QB for a 31 year old 2 time SB winner, but what is the point elaborating?

I don't have a dog in this fight, but come on....no one, and I mean NO ONE should want to trade Griffin for Big Ben. That's just ludicrous. Age, salary, etc etc. if you do not have a franchise QB, then maybe kick the tires in Ben.

Frankly, I'd be hard pressed to trade Griffin for any QB in the NFL not name Luck, Brees, Rodgers, Newton, or *maybe* Wilson and Kaepernick. Not even Brady or Manning (x2).

I respect your posts WetHog, and your passion as a Skins fan. But it seems you made an off hand remark out of frustration, and now you are trying to defend it. Best to agree its a bad idea, and let it go.

I have a pretty good idea what asset management is. I am smart enough to know that trading Griffin straight up for Roethlisburger at this time would be an idiotic move, and I am also man enough to say I made a dumb mistake suggesting as much in my previous comments.

As I said before, that's why I am not an NFL executive. Because I let a petty gripe of mine not liking Diva football players cloud my judgment.

Ok, saw this after my last post.

Thanks

I would put the Herschel Walker trade up there as the worst trade in NFL history, but trading Griffin straight up for Big Ben would be up there.

And since we are on the subject of bad NFL trades, where do you come down on the Champ Bailey and a 2nd for Clinton Portis?

It wasn't a great trade, but we can't look at it in a vacuum. Gibbs believed he needed a top RB. That was based on his past experiences as a coach. He felt they had a good enough secondary (they had just drafted Smoot, I believe), and we always forget that Champ wanted OUT. He wasn't going to resign with the Skins. The players were a good swap. Giving up the second was not a good idea.

But we've seen a lot worse in he NFL.

Jesus man. Get a hold of yourself.

Win.

End of story.

I must be out of whack if Ridley "tank so we can fire George and who cares if it means wasting prime years of Ovechkin, Backstrom, and company so long as George is gone" Simon is telling me to get a grip on myself. Edit: that was sarcasm, by the way. I actually like your posts.

You know what's worse than being angry? Not giving a ****. I don't give a **** right now. That's never happened to me before. I literally don't care if the Redskins lose today. I'm so tired of losing. 4 winning seasons in 22 years. Statistically impossible to be that bad for that long. I don't even want my season tickets any more. Between the losing, RGIII's look at me attitude this year, the name controversy I have no enjoyment out of the NFL this year. I'm going to the gym at 9. If I catch the second half, great. If not, no big deal.

Terrible decision making from RG3. Could have tucked and run for 1 yard. Left side vacated and the line opened on that side...just bad. End this season already and chalk it up to the injury debacle.

Dude. He hit Moss square in the hands. Absolutely not on Griffin. Moss is done.

This team is pathetic. If Haslett isn't gone I'm canceling my season tickets.

They are getting badly out-coached, funny Shanny saying more tape on the Iggles will help.

How the **** does Haslett still have a job? If it's Shanahan's call, they all should be fired.

What a pathetic display by this organization at every level.

If you didn't know it already, Danny, money doesn't translate into team success. In fact, it's anathema.

This defense has very little talent. I'm not sure what you expect him to do? He doesn't draft for the Redskins or make FA acquisitions. Watch that recent pass to Jackson. Did you see the lane Foles had to throw? How clean that pocket was? Cofield tries to rush on the outside, the other lineman also went wide and pretty much didn't get past the line of scrimmage. When we blitz we get burned because of the youth, inexperience, and lack of talent in the secondary. We saddled ourselves with a pretty pedestrian QB and, frankly, poor drafting outside of maybe 3 or 4 players in Shanahan's tenure. This team is a personnel mess.

His scheme consists of zone coverage with no blitz, allowing the QB to pick the zones apart. It's not hard to see. Never mind the tackling.

It is clear to me that RG3 is not the long term answer for this team. Give it 3 years and he will not be our QB. The man has a grade A running game and struggles mightily in the passing game, that alone should be a red flag. He just doesn't have the processing speed needed for an upper echelon NFL QB. Gibbs sold the farm for Campbell, Shanahan did the same for RG3. :shakehead This organization is cursed. I have generally been on the Shanahans' side for the most part, and I still think Kyle is a very good coordinator, but I think it may be time to clean house. More for poor personnel decisions than schematic complaints.
