Is Jiggs being brought back because of the Islanders run they're on? I know Howie does Mets game, but I don't remember hearing Jiggs in the last few years.

This is an exciting OT though. Lots of action here.

It's because Howie hates doing Isles games and likes doing mets games.

Usually the NHL season ends in early April, so Jiggs would only do a few games as opposed to a whole month (and a month in a compressed schedule at that).

Come on Pavelec! He gets beat through the 5 hole in the shootout a lot. Thanks for breaking down, and giving them a point too Isles.

Howie must be jealous, doing irrelevant Mets games while Jiggs is getting all these high-wire Isle finishes in big games. Then again Howie's a Ranger fan anyway

I still don't believe the Isles have 'arrived', even if they make the playoffs in a short season. I remember a couple years ago they were in playoff position after 55-60 games, or close to it then collapsed down the stretch. If they win a round then yeah I'll concede they're for real, but I doubt they'd make it in an 82-game season.

I don't think they have either. Though now at least they have a REAL goalie, and not some scrubs, and trash can Rick. Nabokov has done wonders for them, and they have had a few good forwards.

I don't know, if I had to choose between the Islanders or the Leafs. The Isles have the edge. And I dislike the Islanders almost as much as Bleedred and Nona.

The leafs are the worst team in playoff position in the East. They will be in trouble next season for sure.

I actually didn't even dislike the Isles that much even just two years ago. I was generally supportive of them. Too many times the Devils came out, and played some very uninspiring games against them. Hopefully the best thing that can come out of them being competitive is it forces the Devils to actually come out swinging every time they play them now.

Not sold on NYI at all yet. Need to prove they can sustain it over another half of a full season then I will be

Agreed. But I would say over 1 complete season season. Their core is still very questionable and the defense is very weak. Nabokov is underrated because of his age, he is still very good for short stints, but that won't last...coaching is suspect IMO.

I'm still not sure the Islanders have figured out what they want to be and what direction the organization needs go. Until that happens the organization will always stumble around aimlessly.

That's what I meant by another half a season (which in total.would equal a full one). Just did a bad job of wording it lol
