I actually thought it was some hidden meaning about how being one win from the dream final. As in he was one win away from winning the cup. I didn't actually get it myself.

Not touching it is stupid. Didn't Stevens not touch it the year we lost? Same with Parise.

Yup Stevens didn't touch it in 01 when we lost. I'm pretty sure he did in 2000 though. I forget about the other times though.

iirc, most teams have lined up for a picture without touching it the last couple years, since Chara did it in 2011. That seems to be the new tradition.

It is ironic the only times we touched the little trophy we won the big one, and vice-versa.

Luongo and the Blackhawks have a loong history and he lost to the Bruins in the cup final. its a sarcastic tweet

I didn't get the inherent sarcasm at first either lol

It's tradition not to touch it. It's more of a tribute to the history of the playoffs than it is a literal meaning.
