I don't find the Karlsson/Cooke incident dirty, just unfortunate and cringe-worthy all the way. It was an attempt to pin that went horribly wrong, IMO.

I am just trying ot understand why he would finish a check with his left foot 12" off the ice? That isn't to call it dirty, but at the very least it was really careless.

What I can't understand is why players don't wear the cutproof socks.

It looks unintentional to me and the outcry seems disproportionate, but then I think that to those people Matt Cooke is like Raffi Torres and if Raffi did this to say Patty, we'd be beside ourselves. We'd be going on and on about how somehow this always happens to Raffi.

But probable reality is, hated players are those that play the game physically hard. They take the body and finish checks, so that's why they get involved in these situations seemingly more often.

It looked more like a pin attempt than a hit. I agree that hated players are usually involved in these situations.

Watch the Stars vs Flames game tonight and see what we've been missing lately. It's 3 to 6 in the 2nd. Seems like all PP's have converted a goal so far.

It wasn't finishing a check as much as it was an attempt to pin Karlsson to the boards (just my opinion). I've seen our own Sharks end up with their knee on a guy's butt on a few occasions. Murray has used this from time to time. What I feel Cooke was trying to do was place his foot between Karlsson's, after riding him to the boards, and completely misjudged where Karlsson's leg was.

It just hit me how much the Karlsson injury really sucks for all of the NHL, I can only imagine how Sens fans are feeling. Players like him don't come around very often, and I hope like hell that he comes back at 100% (which I hear is very possible for an achilles injury).

Those 3 sections behind the bench almost dead center are empty every game in Florida.

They've obviously priced those tickets higher than the fans are willing to pay.

Honestly, I'm starting to watch more EC games simply because they're so much more entertaining than WC games.
