I agree, outside of Nash, the Rangers organization really hasn't shown any cojones to go out there and make a big move via trade. Mcdonagh/gomez trade don't count.

I think the Rangers have a long and checkered history of making the big move.

I'd rather they not.

But not in this type of situation where they've backed themselves into a corner with little appealing pieces and no cap space.

Well yeah we have tried to make "big moves", I guess I should have said they dont really take risks of any "hockey trades".. They are like the Yankees, they try for the big salary dump trades while refusing to give up any good assets that fills a need.

and what? the Rangers have plenty of appealing pieces for a trade, they just aren't willing to give them up.

any chance Rangers Flames make a deal involving one of their first round picks???? maybe Del Zotto to Flames??

It's possible we see Evander Kane traded today. Hearing there's a couple teams who have approached Jets.

i doubt Sather gets this done although id gladly move Staal for Kane....

never understood why the Jackets were gonna trade the goalie who just won the vezina and then were gonna be in the market for another. WTF kind of sense does that make

Also, even though the Rangers announced they wouldn't use their last compliance buyout on Richards this year, if something came up that was too good to pass up, couldn't they still technically do it this year or is the cut off date over?

He was going to get traded 10 mins ago. Welcome to twitter.

Negotiations through social media. Think CBJ is bad kid? Guess we'll send you to Edmonton.

Have until the 4th I believe.

I believe this year's compliance buyout cutoff is 5pm today...perhaps they pushed it back?

Asked Gordie Clark if we'll have a reason to get excited before the third round. He said that he didn't want to show up so early...

Torts' 4th line role isnt much different than the league norm. Guys that can skate, have some skill, and can provide energy. Its pretty absurd we haven;t been able to draft and develop those kind of guys from within.

Putting Miller and Kreider in that role is silly. They are 2nd/3rd liners, just like the glut of the younger Rangers that have been drafted.

don't see anything wrong with letting Miller play on the 3rd line this season on wing. Yes his ceiling is better than that but to get acclimated to the nhl put him in a bottom 6 role this year. Bottom 6 needs to get younger and faster

So the stuff about 'a lot of trades' is coming from multiple sources now?

sounds fun!

Yeah. Which would not surprise me if very little actually happens.

Pulling the trigger on something big takes a set. How many GM's really have what it takes....and a good dance partner?

As a GM the first rule is almost certainly not to do something merely to do something.
