XX-Boyle-Dorsett

need a top line LW, a 3c, and a 4th liner.

I know I post one of these everyday but it is so damn fun.

Buyout Richards.

Move Boyle to the wing, sign Boyd Gordon for 4C and Weiss and Raymond for the 3rd line.

Trade Pyatt and Asham for picks.

Sign Briere if available.

Nash Stepan Briere
Kreider Brassard Callahan
Raymond Weiss Hagelin
Boyle Gordon Dorsett

McDonagh Girardi
Staal Del Zotto
Moore Stralman

Zucc is missing and I'm not sure he fits in if we sign Briere. It's one or the other IMO.

If we have that team, we can move Hagelin to LW and Nash to RW. Where they both belong. I would re-sign Zucc though.

I dont get this "where they belong" with Nash.. He can play either LW or RW.. He was a LW mostly his whole career thats why it never made sense to me for Torts to switch him there when we already had Gaborik and Callahan there.

It is blasphemy to some here to consider playing Nash on the left wing. Heaven forbid he have to find another way to score than right-left dekes.

If we traded Nash for Nash to be a RW then our FO is more stupid than I thought. Why the hell would you tie up almost 20M in RWs when we had gaborik?

Also, heaven forbid we would actually have a legit 1st line LW.

Vancouver PP in the 2011 Playoffs

They scored 3 straight 5 on 3 goals. The 2 righty shots are on the ice. Burrows provides the net presence. Starts at 1:00.

But yet Torts put Nash on RW and forced Gaborik to LW. I don't hate Torts but that was ****ing stupid.

I think you have to keep Kreider with Nash. Put Kreider with the best talent on the team.

Shooting off the pass, taking one timers with a RH shot is important to the PP.
I am convinced AV will be asking for a RHD with a good shot from the point.
I am not sure if this was already posted, but it's a good read
Brown, whose primary responsibility was the power play, enjoyed great success his first season with the team in 2010-11. The power play was No. 1 in the NHL and so were the Canucks, who won the first of two straight Presidents’ Trophies. In 2011-12, the power play slipped to fourth and then plummeted to 22nd this past season. At one point, it went 11 straight games without producing a single goal.

Brown knew things weren't right when he had too many left shots.

“You have to look at the pieces of the puzzle that are necessary and we had great chemistry that first year,” he explained. “Everything gelled. This year, we were forced through injury and whatnot and changes in personnel to try and build a new group.

“When you're trying to run a power play with five left shots, which we were forced to do a lot this year, you're really swimming upstream. Seventy-seven per cent of the power-play goals are scored with at least two right shots, so that tells you a lot right there. Not to say there are exceptions to the rule, but when you have five left shots, or even four, your chances of scoring are diminished.

“Teams are so fast to get into the shot lanes these days,” Brown continued, “that if you can't take one-timers, if you aren't in position to take one-touch passes and move the puck quickly to shooters and shoot off the pass, you're at a big disadvantage. That was something we were dealing with this year.”

It's pretty clear were gonna need another goal scorer on this team. Hagelin, Zucc, Kreider, and Brassard are nice players and all have the POTENTIAL to score 20+ goals...but i wouldn't really count on them to carry the offensive load on this team next season.

The only offensive goal scorers we can rely on are Nash and Cally. Stepan had a good season but I wanna see him do it across 82 games, not 48.

Curious to see what management has up their sleeve.

Can we all agree that we should get rid of Pyatt, Powe, Asham, and maybe Boyle? I think we should try to get McLeod out of Colorado, and possibly McBain out of Carolina. McLeod and Dorsett would be nice on the 4th line.

with what the defensemen are getting in UFA (Streit, Gonchar, Wideman last year), the Rangers absolutely need to see what the market is for Del Zotto. If its not there keep him, but at least have to explore it.

I see nothing wrong with keeping Boyle for the bottom 6. I dont see AV playing him higher or on the PP like Torts did.

PLAY ON, PLAYER
Sather told the Daily News that he expects to re-sign all four of the Rangers' active restricted free agents: Derek Stepan, Ryan McDonagh, Carl Hagelin and Mats Zuccarello. He said he has not had further discussions about a contract extension for Lundqvist but told Lundqvist's agent, Don Meehan, that they would meet this week. Sather has been busy with other matters, after all.

Really want Raffi Torres to be Boyle's wingman like he was Malhotra's under AV.

Now we are talking.

Torres - Boyle - Dorsett for the Rangers 4th line.

Even with me not liking Boyle all that much as a player, I know that's as solid a 4th line as any team's

if Torres can stay on the ice... Also, is there any speed at all on that line? Bruins not only have bruisers on their 4th line, they have speed.

I think the skating is fine enough. Boyle is clearly the slowest of the bunch, but overall I think that they would be an effective trio is the mandate was to get the puck to the FRONT of the net as opposed to below the gola line.

Guys like this create havoc when tasked with driving to the net. While I have my issues with Boyle, he's goes to the front of the net and I have seen him battle well there.

they would be effective in the role of crap disturbers.
