Funny nobody's mentioned Saku Koivu being a UFA this year. I'd take him. Sign Koivu, one of White/Zidlicky/Streit, trade one of MDZ + Miller + or Staal for Eberle/Ryan, and call it a day.

Kreider-Stepan-Eberle/Ryan
Zuccarello-Brassard-Nash
Hagelin-Koivu-Callahan
Pyatt-Boyle-Dorsett

McDonagh-Girardi
MDZ/Staal-Stralman
Moore-UFA

I think you might run into a cap issue with that plan.

I don't like too much roster movement at this stage. Assuming Clowe is not re-signed.
Kreider - Stepan - Nash
Hagelin - Brass - Callahan
Fast - Lindberg - Miller
XXX - Boyle- Dorsett

McDonagh - Girardi
Staal - XXX
DZ/Moore - Stralman

Hank

is a good team to build around.

That team will probably make the playoffs next year but barring a major improvement in some of the young players, won't be a contender.

We need to make some moves in the offseason, just not some gigantic trade like the Nash deal.

I think that's absolutely a bubble playoff team. Barring Lundqvist winning the Vezina which you can never rule out...

There's been talks of them doing that.

They need defense, and they need forward size.

and the Rangers dont :help: NYR need forwards with size, defense with grit and toughness, and more speed up front.. for a small team like NYR has up front, they are not that fast or quick....

Eberle/ Yak is no shrimp..... And MDZ doesn't have any grit or toughness. And from what I've heard, Yak/Eberle is pretty fast too.

Not sure what you're trying to say.... We wouldn't be giving up any grit in the back end, and we improve in size and speed.

Can you expand on that?
Stepan, Nash, Hagelin, Callahan, McD, Girardi, DZ are all returning.
Staal will hopefully be healthier.
Brassard, Moore and Dorsett will have a full season with the team.
The 4th line is improved, the 3rd line is a little green but fast and eager.
I see this team as better than this season's team.

i understand that.... i was just saying that is a major need for Rangers as well.

with the buyouts in the future how about Ryan Malone on a 1 year deal if bought out by the Bolts..he adds size down the middle and grit but tends to get hurt from time to time.. better than overpaying for guys like Weiss, Ryder, etc.

Malone isn't a center.

Brassard won't be a ppg player

Stepan may regress (not saying he will but he might)

Kreider may not be groomed enough

Lindbergh may not transition well

Staal may not recover completely ( or at all)

And even if none of these things happen, just because a team is slightly better doesn't mean they make it farther. Other teams as improving as well. We may not be as lucky etc

Even if that team is as projected, with nothing going wrong, they aren't a contender.

he isnt a natural center but he has taken faceoffs in the past.... either way this adds size and grit to the line up. if he is available on July 5. i bet Sather will try to land him.. one of those low risk singings that sather is known for.. most likely cheaper than Clowe as well.

Hall is their darling now.

Bernie is disappointed.

:cry::cry::cry:;)

He has been the 'face of the franchise' since I pitched Girardi + for him, and they said no, no, no.

Possibly my fault technically as I kept saying "proposal" instead of "value of".

I then countered with, you have the right to be attached to your hero, and what not, but you gotta consider the Ted Williams scenario. If the Yankees offer Mantle and Ford for Ted Williams, how can either side say no? Mantle + pitching would have increased Bosox wins, and Williams and DiMaggio = very impressive.

FINALLY after I was adamant about everybody telling the truth, FINALLY posters on both sides admitted the Girardi in his prime + could = fair value for Hall.

That resolved it for me.
I don't mind admitting when I'm wrong. Tysen Dowzak.

But not when I am in fact not wrong.
I was pretty peeved about the dis to DG from the Oiler crowd, who were saying no way with one breath, and then bemoaning the lack of D they had with the other.

Any hoooo,
At the time our best chances to win were to acquire another sniper to match Pitt.

We could still use another sniper, but I'm hoping we get someone with more overall game. The more such acquisition is by trade, and the more it turns out we are paying top dollar, the more this is so.

We also need skill.

Sorry, but no roster is going to have 12 Milan Lucic's on it.

We need to re-sign Zuccarello.

I'm excited to see what he can do under a new coach, especially one that might allow him to showcase his talents a little more.
