With Ference not returning to Boston, do we go after him?

If Staal is not ready you have to consider him. Or if trade DZ which I disagree with because he has a good contract and I think he will be even better under AV.

Fantastic contract for Anisimov. I want him back.

Sign Briere.

Nash does not play physical on a consistent basis to be called a power forward. he hits once a month it seems like... doesnt go to the corners and doesnt screen the goalie.... power forwards are players who play physical, with grit, drop the gloves and be aggressive at times. Nash does not do this at all. Nash is more of a sniper than power forward.. Ryan Callahan is more of a power forward than Rich Nash is
Rick Nash is more like Jaromir Jagr than Eric Lindros, yes. Given that the Rangers have him under contract for 5 more years, I don't want him throwing his body around needlessly.

I understand the hockey culture of being tough, playing through pain and etc. Am I the only one that feels the injuries Bergeron played through was an act of stupidity but not bravery? There has to be a point where playing through certain injuries is stupid, not brave. He possibly shaved off significant time off his career trying to play through the multitude of injuries he did.

Final seasons yes prob tired of losing maybe? His early seasons he would do all that. That's why I wanted him so bad. He was a seriouspower fforward with scoring ability to boot. I've watched him for a while
"Tired of losing" has got to be one of the most silliest excuses I've heard in hockey. His game never was shifted towards big checks and fighting, he's soft for his size. No shame in that if he can still produce. But if you're expecting him to play similar to Milan Lucic physicality wise, prepare to be eternally disappointed.

It's misleading to say that Vigneault loves Pyatt. When Pyatt's game dipped in Vancouver he was removed from the Sedins and exited Vancouver quickly.

Why is that an excuse? What's the motivation if ur not going to win anyway? And no I don't expect lucic but more like Horton with more skill

:handclap:

The size issue cant be brushed over. Its there, and its a liability.

Wasnt a liability with St. Louis, Gionta, Maurice Richard, Hagelin and several other "small guys". Briere?

Size is only an issue if you let it be. And the Swedish League MVP has made me a believer several times on this team. His first appearance immediately made our PP better. In his 2nd go around, he played a much better overall game. Just like I expect someone to after more experience.

The guy is a Ranger and I hope he remains a Ranger until further evidence proves me wrong.

I think he will do even better in AV system of play.

Buy out Richards only if you can get a proper replacement.

Jarome Iginla is a guy I would love on the Rangers, but he is not a replacement.
We need a proper top 2 center... Fillipula?

I would probably rather have a cheaper Briere than Richards right now...
Get Briere at a less than 5 million dollar rate for less than 4 years and I could like that.

Ok, now you have to stop and take a deep breath.

Briere on a 1 or 2 year deal for 2-3 million tops. The guy can't stay healthy and is a RW only at this point.

smallest forward corps in the NHL with Briere added?

Kreider-Stepan-Nash
Hagelin-Brassard-Briere
Zuccarello-Lindberg/Miller-Callahan
Pyatt (ew)-Boyle-Dorsett

Iginla or Jagr make sense for a top 6 offense-first role and can occupy playing time when Callahan is recovering from shoulder surgery. Don't think this club has the balls to push the captain into a full time checking role.

Iginla or Jagr would not push Callahan down in the line-up at this point in their careers.
