Speculation: 2013 Offseason Thread Part IV: SCF, end. Trades, begin.

I wish Richards worked out. Richards - Stepan - Brassard. That's an awesome middle if only Richards worked out. Nothing ever goes right for us.

It doesn't matter how Richards played. He should be bought out no matter what because if we are stuck with that contract for 9 years.. we are in trouble

Ya I know Richards will probably be bought out, and Hagelin doesnt play RW.

Richards for Cammalleri. The Rangers get a top-six goal scorer for one year, cap relief after that. Calgary gets a 1c whose name isn't Olli Jokinen. Win-win.

Rangers worked with Calgary in the Erixon deal.

If Richards costs NYR 3-4 years of cap hit way down the line, at a time when the cap is much higher, they'll cross that road when they come to it.

the last 3 yrs of richards contract is 1 mil each does that mean the hit is 1 mil if he reitres at 2017.

also if traded does the cap hit get split amongst the teams?
 
I think and handful of you guys underestimate our forward corps a little too much. I agree we have a lot of question marks in the top 6 (Brassard repeats, Zucc, Kreider) but you guys just have no faith in this team it seems. I think we're one good LW away from a serious contender, and a 3rd center. Until they won the cup, the Bruins center depth in NO way screamed championship to me, same with the Blackhawks. I think under AV our team will do some great things.
 
Although I would love burmitsov I don't think that sather would target him the org seems high on miller/lindburg. Burmitsov would push them out no way thats happeneing.

I thin the step 1c brass 2c boyle/muller/lindburg fight it out for the bottom 2

I like em. I would like to see Lindberg up. I wish there was a spot open for Miller. Possibly Clowe's when he'll eventually get injured. He does bring sandpaper to that 3rd line. Much needed especially with Brassard and Hagelin on the line. Pyatt is junk, in my opinion. Throw Clowe down to the fourth line. Miller at 3rd line LW.

Yeah, I wouldn't give up on DZ for Burmistrov. I trust Del Zotto as our offensive more than Moore. Moore was better than DZ in the playoffs, but there was such a small sample size from last season.
 
Anyone have a list of the best 3rd line center free agents available? I don't want to hear trade DZ for Burmistrov. Another small, soft player, Russian factor, if he is going to be on AV's 3rd line must be good defensively. This is not about Burmi though, this is solely about the best available centers that can play on the 3rd line.

I like Ferraro a lot. Detroit has DeKeyser, Sproul, Smith. So unfortunately, i think they'd be out on Del Zotto, as well. Stastny is a realistic option. But he's highly paid, and another slow skater.

Burmistrov has the skill, smarts, and speed that we should be looking for.

We were a slow, predictable team that couldn't exit our own zone nor had the overall team speed to get through the neutral zone. Size won't fix that. Speed and skill will.

Nash hasn't and won't play LW with the Rangers for some reason. Grind Jam Grind pointed to a video where almost all of his goals were from the RW side.
 
I would love Bickell on this team for a manageable contract...3 years 9 million...guy is a horse and challenges for the puck every chance he gets. If Richards is on this team next year we are ****ed. Huge risk and very little reward..even if he scores 20 and has 30 assist...is that worth 6.66 a year.

He is going to get offers from other teams that could push 4mil, just stay away from him, don't want to get in a bidding war for a 3rd liner who has had one good playoff run. Richards will be bought out.
