Speculation: 2013 Off-Season Speculation/Be the GM Thread

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. anyone saying that we should trade one or more of our dmen for forward help are out of their minds...come talk to me when we actually have 3 pairs of dman and our guys aren't dead cause torts is using 3 guys for close to 30:00/game. our depth on the blueline is awful. the idea that we have dmen to spare is a myth that only exists on paper
 
The Center I want is another Blue jacket. He has the size and the skills. He just needs to put it altogether.
Pipe dream? maybe, but he appears to be on the out in Columbus. Not sure of the cost though.

Brassard can be that player, but I feel there's still a big question mark over whether he can be that 2nd line center. His play after the trade and through the playoffs has been stellar, but is just a great 20 game stretch, or has he 'turned the corner'?
 
#1 priority is a point shooter/triggerman for the PP. Someone who can shoot bombs...

#2 is an upgrade for third line center. Someone they can bring in for a short term deal until some of the kids are ready.

#3 A decent winger who has the potential to pot 25 goals. Thats not so much a need but a luxury.

Everything else can be done internally imo.

All of them will get big contracts.

Even Flippula will get a very good contract.

No free agent centers.
 
We don't need new centers, we need new couch, I wouldn't be oposed to change Torts for Vignault (sp?)

He was my #1 target at #10 in 2010. If they dump him this early they are beyond morons.

At least not more than 1-2 new faces, save for kids.

We have a bit of a log-jam at certain positions, so I wouldn't mind seing 3-4 players go. But we can't have like 5 new faces again. Slats gotta learn.
 
They need more skill and size. That much is obvious.

I have liked Haley for a while. I wouldn't mind seeing him on the 4th line next year. Time to get this team back to being a pain in the ass to play against.

I was shocked to see Haley got 8 minutes last night. I dont think I heard his name once.
