Trade Aucoin for a 7th and we are good

I know that Aucoin is no Dalton Prout, but he'd go for more than a 7th.. :p

On a side note, looking at the cap situation for next year it would seem that TB and Carolina are the two teams that would be most willing to give up something. TB is mostly Stamkos and some old dudes. No, I really don't want Pouliot. Purcell might be the only guy there. I don't see much of anything possible on Carolina.

If you go back to Buffalo, Pominville is the only guy I might want, while being 30 and only one year left on his deal. That doesn't sound like a great use of the first rounder. Not all that interested in Stafford. They aren't going to move Hodgson.

Like most I don't expect anything that adds to the core, unless we are giving up roster player(s) in return.

Reading the tea leaves I want to read to come up with a laughable wild-a*$ guess...I'm piecing together this beaut:

2013 1st - LA Kings
Savard

for:

2013 3rd
Glencross

(affordable contract, not a rental, scoring help, fits what Puck Daddy says Feaster is looking for, no movement clause but knows C-bus so might even, gasp, like it here)

No thanks. I had enough of Glenx the first time around. To be honest, he's a lot of the same. That 20-25 goal tweener. Plus there were attitude issues the first time he was here, which why he was shipped off. He's 30 now. Let that sleeping dog lie.

No thank you.

Informative. Good talk.

[Too chatroom stupid to know how to quote two at once]

Fair enough. I think Glencross's time predated mine as a CBJ fan. I agree on the tweener comment, but didn't know about the rest. To me, he's much more attractive than a Bouchard and someone that would actually be "gettable" as opposed to Pacierotty.

Additionally...I think the best thing JK can do is stand pat. Then again, being a buyer might further forge what's going on in the room and put us on a good trajectory going into next year (assuming they don't fall completely on their face the rest of the way).

Switching gears a little bit, who would you rather have: Vanek or Pominville? I assume Vanek even though Pominville is the captain and has a smaller cap hit.

It sounds like Vanek might not get moved, so the decision then becomes Pominville or Stafford. I assume that the consensus would be Pominville.

I realize there are other options out there, but it appears one of the Buffalo guys is who we may end up with if we end up with anyone today. And I'm just passing the time by...

That may not be a bad deal, value wise, but I wouldn't do it.

None of them, because I don't want to trade what it would take to get them. If I had to pick one it would be Vanek.

I'd prefer Stafford over Pominville...this year aside, numbers a level lower than what Pomi put up in his prime, one more year on contract, 1.5MM cheaper, and possibly some upside yet to squeeze out.

Vanek, but he'd cost oodles more than Pominville. I think both would be good acquisitions for the right price (and assuming they'd come here)

Really don't want any part in Stafford, baring Umberger is going back the other way or Buffalo eating a decent chunk of his caphit. Although I certainly like the player enough, we already have a lot of Stafford-like players that he wouldn't be much of an upgrade.

Vanek of course, but we aren't getting him. Either would be an offensive upgrade, but Vanek has 30-40 goal potential, and is a solid 2 way player.

Hello. Greetings in Finland. I think this is do not come in pushes, but i just eyeing few page backwards at this thread.

http://bluejacketsxtra.dispatch.com...en-seeks-to-make-trade-but-within-limits.html

sorry bout fin-english. cheers/kippis.

Good stuff from Kek there. Saying everything I was hoping to hear.

No Rentals.

Willing to deal a first round pick.

Looking for offensive upgrade.

Not looking to move any current roster pieces.

It sounds like he is happy with the course the team is on, and would make moves only to enhance the current direction, not to veer off down another course. I think thats the right approach.

Skol/Cheers.

Depends on the cost to acquire of course, but I'd say Vanek, Pom, then Stafford.

I'd be willing to be fairly aggressive to get Vanek and would definitely include a first plus decent prospects. I'd rather get him now than at the draft so he can see what it's like playing here, before we try to re-sign him long term. If we can get Vanek (and sign him) for less than what we got for Nash, I'd call it a win. Vanek is 90% the scorer of Nash in my opinion.

I like Pominville a lot too, especially his leadership. Would probably give up LA's first to get him, but not much more than that. Again, I'd want him signed long term. The question here is what's more valuable- 4-5 years of Jason Pominville (20-30 goals per season), or a late first round draft pick? I'd rather have Pominville.

I'm probably more bullish than most on Stafford, I like his age and size. But like someone else said, I don't see the need to have him and RJ on the same team.

Minny, Columbus, LA, Detroit among teams interested in Jason Pominville. There are others. Of those 4, tho, only CBJ willing to deal a 1st.
CBJ would have to be on his list, of course.
