You're a lot better with the prospects than the majority of us so I have a question for you. Gordie Clark mentioned how there would be some offensive dmen in mind in the 3rd round. Do you know who he would be looking at around there?

with that cap issues that they are going to have, don't need inside sources to know not much is going to change.

Sather believes this is a team that can compete and that's really not true.

While a lot of our issues may have been coach related, team structure is a problem as well.

So a team that was a couple of games against going to the Cup two years ago and lost to the eventual runner ups this year is not at all able to compete?

OK, then.

Yes. And the team 4 years ago has only retained Cally, Girardi, Staal & Lundqvist and that's it.

And you just named a franchise goaltender, the captain of the team, two of the team's top 3 defensemen.

Thats it!

I don't believe that we can.

We got beat by a better and hungrier team 2 years ago.

We got beat by a better and hungrier team this season.

We are soft up front on the top 6

We have limited scoring ability on the bottom 6

On defence we have one player that is never going to be the same (Staal), the other guys I believe are pretty soft when it comes to playing the position in front of the goalie.

No PPQB regardless of how many points MDZ posts

The team has issues regardless of how far Lundqvist takes us.

Pesce, Subban, Bell, Slepyshev are some interesting guys. Can augment this year's draft by signing Trevor Van Reimsdyk and Greg Carey at year's end.

I think we'll use one of the third rounders on Bell.

So you're saying we have a chance?

Well if you're going to not have a 100% roster turnover, I guess those would be a good 4 to keep.

Maybe we can make some moves in the 2009 draft to plug the holes in the Rangers roster for 2013-14. What do you think?

Im usually all for doom and gloom, but the draft isnt the time to be chastising the Rangers make up - theres been plenty of other mistakes over the years.

The Rangers draft record has been OK - not bad, not great.

Arthur Staple ‏@StapeNewsday 5s
#Isles have acquired Cal Clutterbuck from the Wild for Nino Niederreiter.

Now the Islanders have a guy to bang the stuffings out of Nash and the rest of our softer than carvel forwards!

we also had a worthless system that encouraged nothing but defense, which our forwards arent cut out for.

We can definitely compete.

But we have to improve. And the lack of cap room is going to limit our options.

To free cap space we should have dealt some dead weight for picks. Pyatt, Asham, Powe, Boyle. Add more talent to the system to develop so in a couple of years when we need it, we have it.

People poo poo at draft picks, yet wonder why we dont have enough depth at times? Double standards.

Poo poo draft picks, whine when we overpay crap in free agency to fill bottom six roles.
