@TGfireandice: I guess in theory Zubrus could be activated, but hasn't practiced with team since he last played on Feb. 5. Devs don't usually work that way

I'd bet it's Zubie coming which is great news.

To be honest, I don't think it is Zub coming back, because he has not once practiced with the team since injury, and the Devils would never start him under those conditions. Almost has to be a trade, or if nothing comes along that Lou likes itll probably be just another AHL call up.

Boucher impressed so much that he's being brought up? :sarcasm:

Seriously, I think it's YaYo coming back. As if that will help.... :help:

This is the likely outcome, but I'm hoping there is a trade that entices Lou to snap at it, because if not...

All I'm saying is this team needs change.

yeah i count 12 forwards still on the roster without zubrus. Barch and boulton will have a boring fight in the 1st period

like someone else said, the move is likely for deadline flexibility

March was our easy month...April schedule sucks. Does not look good for this team.

the April schedule is not that bad. the East sucks sans 3-4 teams.

Don't have the schedule up now, but I believe only 3 or 4 games are against non playoff opponents? And two of them are the Isles and Philly so those are tough as well. Granted this team would struggle against any team right now.

the only "good" teams in the East are Pittsburgh, Boston, Montreal, and maybeeee Ottawa. everyone else is mediocre to bad.

Yet the roster we have seen isn't necessarily the same roster as what it will be in April. Plenty of changes in the lineup throughout March anyway, but we'll still have to see how D'Agostini does with a little more time in this organization, what dynamic our team takes once Zubrus is back, if we see more from Ponikarovsky with him back, how Kovy performs when he is back, any future moves before the deadline (this one can apply to the teams we play too), the difference in our goaltending situation of Brodeur back and Moose not playing over a dozen games in a row (so hopefully he can be as effective as he used to be as a backup), and if we get some stability on the blue line (in terms of who is even in the lineup on a nightly basis). There are still many questions of what our team will be. Its not as simple as saying "this is the team we will see the last 13 games, they suck, prepare to suck against good teams now." We could reach the same result, but we can't totally assume things are going to carry over the same from what March ended up being.

Getting back players isn't enough to seriously contend. No top line winger to play with Kovy = no chance. Really hoping we dont move picks for mediocre "upgrades" that won't be enough to get the team over the hump.

This is where I stand as well. I don't advocate not trying to ice the best team possible, but you have to know when to pick your battles. I personally don't think that this year is one of them.

I am sorry didnt Nick Palmari ride the top line with Kovy during our 23-3-3 run (or whatever it was)

Your crazy to think you need a top end guy to play with Kovy to "have a chance" it just takes the right kind of player.

Once fully healthy i still dunno if anyone can ice 4 lines the way the Devils can. Thats without and trades. Plus having the 8 Dman to cover injuries on the Blueline. Would i mind moving a Dman if the right deal came up no. But i trust Lou and if he believes he can make the team better then he will if not then cool we stand the way we are and i still believe its a solid playoff team once everyone clicks and is healthy and will do more damage then people think.

Henrique - Lokti - Kovy
Elias - Zajac - D'Agostini
Poni - Zubrus - Clarkson
CBGB

To compete with Pittsburgh? Boston? Nope.
