Butler was in the same boat as Josefson IMO. Both played mostly with not great players on the 4th line but they did get opportunities with better players and still couldn't produce. Loktionov was able to step up when he was given a chance, Josefson and Butler did not.

Sucks that we lost some forward depth but I don't think Butler was ever going to be more than just forward depth.

Exactly that. Loki was put in the same position at first as them with limited time up top, but Loki produced and earned his way to more ice time. JJ and Butler never did, why one is in the AHL and the other gone.

I do want to try JJ at wing if Lou doesn't have a trade in the works.

Also not sure if posted, but here is the 2013 draft logo!!!

Is that the official draft logo?

I would have preferred one with a Newark reference, but the state outline is cool.

I don't think they would want that, as much as people from new jersey know Newark is on the way back general knowledge is that Newark is still the town with the highest murder rate....people don't forget even when you're trying to do better

The draft will sellout, it's a 1-day event this year and season ticket holders will have access to free tickets.

They could have incorporated Newark someone (my personal opinion), but the reason they chose not to has nothing to do with the city's image or crime rate, but probably more to do with the name of the team, the New Jersey Devils (not Newark Devils).

good for butler, and classy move by Lou. The Preds are my second team, I hope BB finds his niche there.

Yep draft logo came out a few days or weeks ago and I'm in approval.

Draft will sellout because tickets are free.

And here is your daily, Chere is a buffoon news flash. Since Clarkson is from Toronto, Chere apparently felt the need to write up a story asking whether Clarkie would flee to the Leafs next year.

If not for some of the quotes he gets I'd of unfollowed this fool by now.

Speaking of Clarkson he misses Marty. Apparently he doesn't know what to do and no one is messing with his stuff because his besty isn't here. COME BACK MARTY...CLARKSON NEEDS YOU!!!

Drafts are free to the public?

I thought they would be a nominal fee, such as $10.

Season ticket holders will have access to I think 2 tickets each.
There will be about 10k seats available to the public, so the great majority of fans will be Devils fans-unless they unload them on ebay or another 2nd source site.

I like Butler, but he didn't look so great his last few weeks. Yeah he won't do **** with Barch playing on his line, but he was getting some PP time and nothing was happening.

This should be a message that we need another winger. Especially since he was the only guy we signed this Summer other than Barch.

Cross your fingers for Thursday then. If he isn't back for that I will officially be really concerned.

Also I think Lou is aware we need another forward Bleed. He wouldn't waive Butler if he didn't know that.

I think he's known that for almost a year now. How do we get the winger is the question? Hopefully Tallinder's solid play the last couple games continues.

Big deal, if it wasn't Chere, it'd be the Post, or the Toronto writers asking Clarkson and doing that story.

If you're reading Chere, just remember you're keeping him employed.

He is awful at his job. Don't even bother.

Hedberg not good enough as backup goalie?

Too many easy goals scored on Hedberg lately. He has a 6 game losing streak. Is he good enough as backup goalie? I dont think so compared to other teams backup goalie.
If Devils want to be in the playoff they cant have Hedberg in net much longer. No point to rest Martin if Devils dont even make the playoff.

He had a rough couple of games.

Add to that he's being forced to start.

His confidence was already waning and has just gone downhill from there. You look at all of those goals yesterday except the last one and all show a goalie who doesn't have confidence in his game anymore.

He's still a very good back up goalie though.

Glad someone else started this conversation, because I was about to.

Frankly, I'm tired of seeing Moose **** the bed every game. He is great in small doses, and by that I mean playing one out of every five or six games, but he has just been godawful during this losing streak.

I went to the Caps-Devils game where his demise started, and he looked like complete ass, it was downright embarrassing, no Devils fan in the building saw it coming.

It's time to start Kinkaid until Marty gets better. In my mind, starting Moose is almost an automatic loss at this point. Seriously, at this point what do you have to lose?
