These 3 could be all competing for spots next year
.
Tverberg is my dark horse for a 4th line spot in the next 2 years.
He seems like a prototypical bottom 6 winger with all the necessary intangibles.

With injuries or moving Robertson, Grebenkin could even see ice time this year. Yes, he's only 21, but has been playing professionally in the KHL and has good size.

Next year unless there is turnover, the roster is still pretty full.

Depending on how this year goes, Paccioretty could return.

Unless Robertson turns its around quickly, I think he will be moved by next year.
I already thought his days were numbered as a Leaf when you have Cowan and Grebs in the pipeline.

Grebs is a guy that can easily play up and down the lineup, so soon or later he will get his chance.

He had such an optimistic showing in preseason, only to turn into a ghost in the regular season...

I'm not sure they are veteran heavy. Couple young goalies, some young D, and up front Minten, Hirvonen, Quillan, Greb, Tverberg. I like the mix.

They are heavy in terms of 23+ year olds for the most part. It's not a bad mix. The top 3 point producers are Shaw, Nylander and Steeves. Rifai has been the #1 D.

Anybody watching the Marlies care to give any update on Niemela? Seems like the guy burst onto the scene a few years ago and hasn't been able to grow his game at all for the last 2 or 3 years.

Definitely a bit concerning that our entire top 4 dmen are over 30 and it looks like we have no good D prospects in the pipeline for the next few years...
Based on? He had a good rookie season last year and has continued to improve so far this year.
With that being said, Berube might have already made up his mind based on his height.

He probably has an ally in Treliving who signed a broken down, one legged defender because he's big.

Okay, being a little tough on the "Big Good" Duo.

Hakinpaa will remove Timmins from the line-up, so that is not a bad thing. That's if/when he's healthy.
