Gruden likes AA just fine, who’s getting the start again.
Leafs should have this kiddy choir sing the anthem.
Love the A

AHL @ 19 is a double edge sword.

Might be good for Cowans development, but is it good development for a guy like Danford who's no longer going up against the top end talent night in, night out.

IMO, it's fine the way it is.
Cowan does not look too strong for the OHL right now. I think he would get feasted on in the AHL playing at his current tempo but that wasn't how he left camp. So there would have to be free movement for demotion back to Juniors if a player shows he isn't quite there yet. I think the kind of underage players that might need the jump to the AHL are going to be extremely rare. It might be more useful to give them a few games there though rather than low minutes for 9 games in the NHL.

Marlies come back from 2-0 again and win 4-3 in the shootout. They have now won 6 straight which is a franchise record. Grebenkin with a goal. Webber with an assist. Artur 15 saves on 18 shots.
I was there.

Grebenkin was good. He was in the middle of a lot good things.

Nylander looks pretty good. Strong on the puck. Made some good plays.

Rafai was good. Pretty steady.

Honorable Mention to Nicolas Mattinen. Did a lot of good things out there.

Marlies looked to move ahead at the end of the 1st. But they deemed it a high stick on Steeves and was waved off after review. Then Bellville scores with under a minute to take a 1-0 going into the 2nd.

Marlies heading to OT (1-1). Goal by Steeves, assist by Niemela, Rifai. Hildeby with 28 stops.

EDIT: Hildeby coming up big in OT. Game going to a shoot-out

EDIT 2: Marlies lose in the shoot-out,. Streak is over.

Danford has 2 points in 10 games, and is a team worst -7 so far.

Has anyone been able to watch any Oshawa games? How has he looked?

I know he had that concussion in rookie camp - maybe should have taken a little more time off?

Marlies shuffled the lines a lil bit yesterday, Quillan getting some time between Steeves and Hirvonen. Didn’t watch much, but noticed that. Unfamiliarity may have been an issue, pretty soundly outshot in this one.
Marlies are slow starters. They have really only won one first period in seven games…gotta hammer that out.
The goaltending wasn’t the issue tho. Hildeby big back there both literally and figuratively.
Anyone put eyes on Kressler? Barely watched, so didn’t notice much.

He's played fine. That team has just been a mess since they gutted their depth trading for Jets 1st rounder Colby Barlow (3 points in 11 games).

They should be better with Calum Ritchie back from Colorado, but will need to shore up the defence through trade.

In time yes... but the big club is such a mess right now, that I'm not sure it would benefit him. He isn't going to change the fortunes of the the current Leafs, so just leave him with the Marlies, give him big ice time, let him score away.

Maybe if the Leafs can figure out how to play properly, then we can give him a chance, if the bottom six continues after the big guys start to play to win.

I imagine he’s also getting a ton of defensive zone starts and tough match ups which will hurt the plus minus.

Not a ton of prospect talk here beyond the Marlies, so here's some

Looks like Hudson Malinoski is off to a decent start in his sophomore year at Providence. PPG through the first 5 games, and if my memory serves only one game without a point.

Good size, good skill as a 20 year old C. Seems like a decent depth piece in the pipeline.
