Vernon Wells????? Typical Yankee move from the most overrated gm in baseball. How about getting a MLB level catcher?

Cashman is a joke. It's amazing how many people haven't figured it out yet.

26 million combined for Ichiro and Wells is laughable.

I dont mind Ichiro. He did well here in short stint last season. Probably ends up hitting around .300 while being a threath on basepaths. Also brings it defensively even though he's lost a step or 2.

Wells on the other hand should be taken out back and shot.

I've defended Cashman in the past but he dropped the ball on this one. It's a move that reeks of desperation.

Pineda had a surgery in May. It would've been the best case scenario to have him ready for Opening Day. Whatever, hopefully he's here in 2nd half and we let him loose out of the pen (that means Hughes and Nova are doing their jobs in #4 and #5 spots). The jury is still out on that trade.



So we go cheap with Martin and get outbid by Pirates and then proceed to pay up for Vernon Wells. Great asset management. Stewart/Cervelli is the worst catching duo in majors. Cubbies and White Sox pairs would probably give them a run for their money.

I'm still pissed at this trade. The Yanks had good pitching last year but their offense stunk to high heavens in the playoffs. I swear if Pineda doesn't succeed here, Cashman better watch his back

I'm still not sold on Ichiro, don't like that he doesn't draw any walks. Worried about the small sample size he had here, considering he looked done for his last 1 and 1/2 years in Seattle. Obviously hope I am very wrong.

this mets youngster on the mound is just throwing 2 seem fastballs low middle in to lefties and the hitters just went back to back for about 950 combined feet in home runs lol.

Scoring runs will be a problem until Granderson and Tex and later on A-Rod come back. If healthy the pitching will keep us in games.

I feel bad for the guy, but I'm not by any means surprised. I was going into this year expecting no contribution from him whatsoever.

The only disappointing part of this is that now there's zero chance of moving him. I was hoping he'd at least show flashes of his former self, and we could flip him for a B prospect.

I think both teams have good pitching and good coaches. Two extremely valuable assets to have in baseball. Both play in two tough divisions, hoping for Wild cards this year.
